Yeah i know TAG is expensive. ANd their old field that used to be in the santa cruz mountains was a lot better than the field they have now. Whenever i go to TAG, (which is rarer now since i found sunol, so much closer to where i live,) i get to tired from the hills they have. And the new TAG is dirty. BUt in your post you said nobody can afford TAG, well you can if the guy that owns it is your uncles step son ;) ! i get in free (most of the time) and i get free paint and key chains. but i still have to reserve a place there. but at sunol its cheaper for a whole day session ( TAG charges a little less for only a half day) but i get in free at sunol too, ( its easy if your brothers godmothers brother owns the field;) ) and i can just walk on there without reserving. conclusion: if you want a good paintball field at a good price, ( yes the field is better than TAGS) go to sunol. c ya there ppl!

Now don't you guys forget about us. We are inexpensive and we at least like to think we have great fields. Don't know if you are to far away but even if it is a long drive we think you will have a great time and it will be worth the drive.

so your lucky, but the rest of us are not, no offence but ill never recomend or spend any money at TAG,i heard sunol is nice.
30.00 for field fee self equiped is WRONG. imagine what a new person to the sport has to pay to play there!

with rental, paint?! and some reports of utter rudeness by the staff, good luck keeping them in the sport.

i was playing at bear creek and had good dealings with them
but there field is small so after awile it gets old, have you played there much?

WAP would be a serious drive but deffinatly worth it,i now live
very close and will be spending all my hard earned cash there
because of a few simple things, the field fee for self equiped
is perfect, there field paint prices are awesome, there rental
package price is also f-ing great wich means i can bring new players and they wont get scared off, they seem to be very nice people and have there hearts in the right place

if you can afford the drive id say do it!

cheers

Spltterpunx,
Thank you so much for the comments. If only the weather would cooperate we would be much happier. If anyone is wondering we will not be open today Sat. Nov24. Hopefully tomorrow will be better but we will just have to wait and see. I would appreciate if you would come and introduce yourself to us by your internet name so we can thank you in person.

Hi WAP, where are you located? Are you in the bay area? and splatterpunx i heard bear creek is nice too, but no sunol isnt 30 its 25 (ok big diff but o well) nah the staff arent really rude or ne thing. at tag well they can be rude sometimes, but the refs at sunol arent so harsh. and TAG well i rarely enjoy playing there anymore i get hurt from the terrain (they have HUGE prickly bush things) then from getting shot. o ya one more thing WAP, do you guys have a website and how far are you from the san jose-milpitas-or fremont area?

splatterpunx

the 30 was aimed at TAG and TAG being rude ones,(i hated those sticker bushes to). WAP is about an 1.5 hours, minimum. from you ,but 98 it would be worth the drive for ya to check it out at least once if yu can swing it,or try extreme in modesto thats a hell of a drive to, but just like WAP when ya get there you wont be insulted with outrageous prices, both have great tourny style concept fields.

bear creek is pure woods but when i was playen there they
had great ref's,its been like 2 months since ive been there so
i dont know the current situation,id recomend bear creek for
newbies and rec style players in your area.

Guerilla98,
We are on I 505 about 25 min from Vacaville. Splatterpunx gave you our web address. We have no prickly bushes just grassy graded fields. Our field fee is $10 and our rental prices are $40 for our automag packages. Our paint prices start at $50 a case.
Our big rec field is not graded but getting softer every day. Just so everyone knows we will be open tomorrow Sun.25th unless we have another wind storm. Our 50 bunker blew over last night on Hyperball and hopefully we will be able to get it back up tomorrow before we open. We might need some strong arms to give us a helping hand.

I have played at both TAG and Sunol. I found that both fields are very different. TAG has a lot brush and some trees. With the brush, some poison oak is mixed in. Generally, that can't be helped. That stuff grows every where. Sunol has no vegetation.

One thing that I like about TAG more than Sunol is the "Dead Men Don't Talk" rule. At Sunol, we played a advanced vs. beginners game. The teams where about 7 vs. 30, but once you take all the 12 and under kids out of the mix, it was more like 7 vs. 15. One of the advanced guys (don't want to say exactly who) talked smack the whole time, but then gets tagged and is out of the game. On the sideline, he was directing his team to which bunkers to get the angle on the beginners. It was annoying. I figured that he would have shut up since he was tagged by beginners, but no, he just kept going at the mouth.

With that said, I still like Sunol more. Cuts my transit time by half since I do not have to deal with 17 and the beach crowd when going home. That air field rocks. I'll probably go this Saturday. Anyone know if they are open when it rains?

Sunol is open when it rains. it rained a little last time i went ( cool). but they say to call in case you think the weather is too bad and there is a possibillity they might be closed. and have you or you nitro ever been there when there was a karate fundraiser. we were sellling hot dogs and stuff, and we had like 44 rentals but me and my friends were self equipped.

now i can put up with thorns and bushes and
hills and creeks and all the stuff that makes
TAG a less than steller field, but what i cant
stand is that they advertise themselves as
a christian orginazation. i have no problem with
it being run by christians who are proud of their
faith, but they do show a complete lack of respect
for those who dont follow the religious stuff. on
the other hand, free hotdogs are pretty nice.
but what do i know.

yea the terrain isnt the problem for me asmuch as the total disrespect for the players that wernt in the church groups
and them pushing that crap on people, but as i stated before
the playing cost is seriously damaging the paintball image
for new players, how christian is greed? and how christian is cracking jokes about sept 11th the weekend after it happend?

How true. i hope my cuz isnt reading this. or i might not be able to get in free. but i can always go to sunol...

But about the hot dogs......
Well i was there once and they had had a night game the night b4. well the hot dog pot had water in it all night and it had been sitting there outside for a long time, i saw the guy just dump out the water and start cooking new hot dogs.

PolkaDot

im not proud. you boil water to cook the dogs right?
well, boiling water sterilizes anything im worried about.
besides, anyone whos been shot in the mouth with
a brass eagle paintball has ingested worse crap than
you'll find in a moldy pot of water.

oh, and the worst thing about tag is the last time i
was there i didnt get hit the whole day on the field,
not once. i dont know how many people i tagged,
but i went home clean, except for the one shot
that some ******* launched from the speedball
field into the staging area which walloped me
in the back of the neck while i was at the counter
getting more co2.
