There's a guy named Timmyfreaker. He uses the Bob Long Torpedo Reg and he says it works wonders. PM him about it. He's cool so he will probally tell you all about it.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this, but the A-5 needs around 700-800 psi to run correctly, and the Torpedo only goes up to 600 psi. Get a Palmers Stabilizer. Next time check the stickies :)

Or if the Stab is that badly out of your price range get a WGP Ergo, or a used stock Cocker reg, they aren't tough to find.
Read the Regulator sticky as well, that's what it's there for.

I've personally used the Ergo, it was just so so. You'll get about +/- 10FPS with a decent HPA Tank.
The Ergo is rated for 0-600PSI, like the Bob Long, but you can get it to spike 800PSI. I don't feel the Ergo is a wise choice because you have to really force it to operate at that high of pressure, it wasn't really made to do that. That's probably why it wasn't as consistant as it should have been.
Save up the money, or be a good shopper, and get the Palmer's Stabilizer. I managed to found a "used" one of PBnation.com's selling forums in brand new condition. The kid just didn't want it anymore. You can keep an eye out on ebay too.
Keep in mind you'll need a HIGH PRESSURE regulator, that goes for the Palmers too (don't get the LP). Very few regulators are made to operate at that high of pressure, anything over 600PSI and people feel it's useless. Anyway, listen to Coenen he knows his stuff. He also made up a thread (that he didn't link oddly enough) about regulators that would be helpful in your situation. I'm sure he'll float on by this thread again soon.
Aloha everyone.
You can find stock cocker regs for cheap if you look hard enough.

damnit, my parents arent gonna like me spending nearly $100 on a palmer, but it looks like im gonna have to. But with the ergo by WGP. You said i would need a 75-100 psi difference. I get a fixed 47/3000 psi tank, fixed output at 850 psi, the i make the reg lower or higher? like to 750 psi, will the ergo be any good at that pressure? or will it be 50 wasted bucks?

imo the extra pressure they say to allow is to help shootdown from occuring, but if you dont shoot that fast on an m98 then it shouldnt be a problem

E r y k sorry but im still confused, so i should be fine with the Ergo? And is the regulator supposed to be 75-100 psi Lower or Higher? 850 psi fixed output on a tank, then the pressure going to my gun will be 850 + or - 75-100 psi?

a regulator regulates pressure, it doesnt amplify it, if your tanks output is 850, there is no way you can get it to 950.

the cp reg is a low pressure reg, unless you go LP i wouldnt recommend it.
