HEY,
I sriously boudt it, alot of countries dont have that stuff, and as much as i would like to see it happen, many people beleive that paintball is a sport of anger and hatred and such, but in fact it is one of comrodery and competiton between friends. I do think that is is possible to see it in the x-games some time soon though, after all it is an extreme sport.

I can picture it now, the Etheopian team enters with talons:laugh:
But seriousely, I don't think the sport is physically demanding enough to be considered for the Olympics. Also, it just deosn't fit in with the other sports in there. Olympics just aren't the place for it.

The Xgames is more of a place for it. Paintball isn't exactly your typical sport like.... swimming or.... soccer. It's more of an extreme sport even though it's not dangerous.

HEY,
The only way paintball is dangerous is when people make it dangerous by not wearing masks, putting in barrel plugs/barrel condoms, and when they do stupid **** like drive bys and stuff. If everyone follows the basic rules everyone is fine.

Yeah i definitely think it has a chance of getting into the X-games pretty soon but definitely not the olympics. Or at least not for an extremely long time...

Hey how did curling make it into the Olympics then? I've never seen a store with curling...stick...things in it. Just like you don't see paintball stores in like Etheopia.

It wasn't 1 vote from the olympics. Unless Dyansty somehow became the IOC.

No he tried to pull a 360 on his first run, but fell and got hurt, broken toe, ocncusion and couldnt see out one eye so he just did backflip variations. Anybody see the body barial though.
Also why is this news. Second this has been posted before. Third it was 1 vote away form xgames not olympics.

The only person that rules enough to do a 360 backflip is Brian Deagon! Metal Mulisha all the way!!, but yeah, i sent an e-mail to the x-games people, but 1 e-mail isnt gonna do much.

I doubt paintball will make it into the X-games,mainly because you can't get hurt that bad playing paintball. Alot of the people just want to see wrecks, which is the main reason Moto X has become VERY popular. And Psycho warden you spell Brian's name wrong...its Deegan.

I do not see the reason why not. It is the fastest growing sport of all time. The problem is, people see it as a little kids game.

There has been talk of putting paintball in either the Gravity Games or the X-Games...or both. I will say that the sport has better chance of making since its more established than it was a few years ago.

Yeah, word has it that they are having an online vote to get texas hold em into the olymics also...haha!. Paintball belongs in the X Games. Poker Belongs in Las Vegas and Curling ( y is it in the olymics?!) and curling....well that just shouldnt be in the olymics becasuse the olypics is about taking 4 years to train to be fisically fit to proform.

i think paintballing shouls be in the olympics, there are alot of sports i the olympics that dont seem like they belong, and it would be cool to say that the US beat RUSSIA or something in the 2008 olympics!

Well see I was listening to comentators the other day, and they gave me a really good reason why paintball shouldn't be in it. It also makes me think that "1 vote away" rumor is just that; a rumor.
To become an olyimpic sport, it must be widely played on 4 continents. It also must be widely played by men in 40 countries and women in 30. We have a long way to go.

lol the purpose of this forum shutdown in an instant
LAMANTEthePBguy is right, paintball will never become an olympic sport, well at least for a very long long time. plus i wouldn't want it to be an olympic sport, moms all around the world will form an anti-paintballing organization saying paintballing is a violent sport, we must save the next generation or some crap like that

Ummm ok then how did table tennis make it? More to the point how did DOUBLES table tennis make it? Also how did badmiton make it?
Anywho, we won't make it to the Olympics until there is an international federation dealing with paintball. This would include adhering to the anti doping rules of the IOC. Then we'd have to wait for about 2 years to be even "recognized" then we can make a proposal. Here's the "official" thingy about even getting recognized(its from the IOC's website).
"In order to be recognised, these organisations must apply the Olympic Movement Anti-Doping Code and conduct effective out-of-competition tests in accordance with the established rules. The recognition of IFs newly recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) shall be provisional for a period of two years or any other period fixed by the IOC Executive Board. At the end of such period, the recognition shall automatically lapse in the absence of definitive confirmation given in writing by the IOC.
As far as the role of the IFs within the Olympic Movement is concerned, their statutes, practice and activities must be in conformity with the Olympic Charter. Subject to the foregoing, each IF maintains its independence and autonomy in the administration of its sport."
More to the point I would love for it to become an Olympic sport. But think about if Isreal and any arab state played eachother....

Paintball will probably be an X-Game, not an Olympic Sport...the Olympic teams represent ur country, and I don't know how many people who view paintball as violent (and there are alot of them) would want to be represented by it. Also, the act of shooting other people might not transpire well between people who dont understand the sport (especially since it'd be international, the Iraqi team being destroyed by the American team wouldnt go over very well).
Finally, we all know who would win...that'd be the Germans lol. They'd make their paintball guns so neat and orderly just like their guns and cars.

Paintball not physically demanding enough...Umm...rightttt...dude, do you even watch the Olympics to see what some of there so-called "sports" theyve included? Syncronized swimming, riflery(which is cool dont get me wrong, but it dont take an Adonis), and umm....Golf, Cricket and Croquet back in the day for $*** sakes??
When I get back from a day of paintball, I am TIRED...
Painball should have its place. Its the sport of the new millenium...

Back during the Olympics I saw something on MSN that give a whole history and a whole future of the sports that are in the Olympics. They gave a definition and paintball matched it perfectly. I wish I remembered what it was. I know it fit the standards. Xgames I could see it in. I like the idea of more paintball on TV.
On that MSN site they also said that the table tennis players had "extreme workouts." Just think.... 'Rocky' playing in the back round, guy in sweat pants and sweatshirt, jogging in place. INTENSE!!
