View Full Version : Losing velocity-wtf is causing it?

I have a WAS'd Imp w/ a CP reg. In the latter part of the day today, it started falling off on velocity after the first shot. I tried to change pressure and dwell up and down but no matter which way I tried it, the second and subsequent shots always noticeably fell off in velocity. Anybody have an idea on whether it would be the reg., the WAS board, or the solenoid, and what to do first to start checking every thing out? Thanks in advance for help or info.

what kind of tank do you have?

make sure you screw your tank in ALL the way

It's a Centerflag 68/4500 that's less than a year old. Yeah, I even refilled it during the dwell and pressure changing session. I have a Uni-mount on it and with it turned off, you can make sure it screws all the way in.

What else do you have on your Impulse? If you have an LPR, then you might have it too low.

Bolt definitely not upside-down. It started doing it halfway through the day and nothing had been changed since I chronoed that morning. I don't have an LPR yet, just a Planet Eclipse front cap for the time being. I've been so pissed about it, I haven't even bothered messing with it since Sat. When I do get over the frustration factor, I'm going to systematically go through and check first the reg., then change back to my old board, and if it is still doing it, I'm pretty sure it will have something to do with the solenoid. What do you guys think?

What pressure are you running at? Try to Increase the pressure a little.

Keep in mind that this started in the middle of a game and I had been playing with no problems with the pressure at 160 and the dwell at 5. After the drop-off started, I tried adjusting both the pressure from about 120-200 and the dwell from 4-7, with 7 shooting way too hot (about 360 fps) and still experiencing the drop-off.
