do you like to play at a field or on your own land more?

I like my own land, know the guys, can trust them, and it's cheeper.

Also my land is just as nice as any field (wooded field at least)

I prefer to play outlaw. I don't have the money to pay for field paint every time we go, and the three fields we built are pretty nice, just as good as the paintball place by me.

I gotsta go to a field, outlaw is dangerous and I've had one too many bad run ins with the cops (I live in a city so I don't have my own land). Plus, I like speedball and making a quality speedballfield yourself is hard.

Both are fun for me. At the field it takes a lot more skill to get guys out because they are actually good. At my friends house we made a speedball field in the middle of the woods and it is very nice. It took a long time to make though. I'll take outlaw over fields though because it is a lot cheaper.

well most of the time i play outlaw, its cheaper than going to a field (espaecily if you have to buy thier paint) and you can invite your friends over even if they dont have a whole lot of money to blow
my 2 cents

Usually I play a my friends house and it blows. He has like 10 acres of forest in his back yard and we usually only get 4 kids over so its really boring. At the field, you get games that are like 10v10 and my field is really cheap. 15 bucks for the day and the owner is really nice. Sometime shell give you a free fill, free food, etc. Fields rule.

I play outlaw! (once every week or two!) I haven't been to the local field yet and probably wont go to it often and here is why!

Field Fee: $5.00
Co2 fills: Not sure
Paintballs: $9.00/100 rounds (im not sure of what kind of paint and all of these prices I was told by a friend who plays there.)

Outlaw Cost
Field Fee: Obviously nothing!
Co2 fills: $2.50 for any tank up to 20oz at Paintball Madness store in the area, or $1.00 per 4 onzes from my friend Jeff's dad.
Paintballs: $8.00/200 round case of Zap Sport Series (seem like good balls to me!) or in the winter I use Diable Blaze winter balls which are in the 20-30 dollar price range for a bag of 500.

Also we play safe outlaw! We always were our masks when there is a game on and when the game is off we always have the safty's on and the markers pointing toward the ground. We always keep our markers aproximatly between 250-280 fps. (We don't have a chrono but with a Tippmann if you tighten it all the way in then turn it about 2 and a half times you get in the 260-270 fps range. (we checked it at a field)

I live in the suburbs, were there are no trees, and I don't think I can biuld a field in a ditch that is right next to a 4 lane street were traffic is huge.
So field.
Anyways I got the cash.

I like both. I like at the Rec place cause your playing people you dont know. On your own you can trust your firends and partice.

I'm with Sked. I like both. My friend's in-laws live out in the sticks, and they said we could use their land whenver we wanted...AND build bunkers and everything. But I like my local field as well. It's cheaper than anywhere I've seen...and they've got great scenarios and refs.

Well I go to Paintball Long Island, and its a pretty large, famous place. So its not like a very get to know you field, though the staff is very nice. If you buy paint from the pro shop, its not that expensive, or its $100 for a case of their diablo balls (the winter fill is terrible, everyone had a ton of breaks with it). I like larger games, since only a few of my friends play pball. Its also fustrating to go to school 8 to 3, then work 3:30 till 9, making around $120 a week. Then to blow about $80 (if I don't buy the paint first) is quite fustrating, but I guess its all good since its paintball. On the other hand, I like smaller games because they take longer (we use a large, heavily brushed field) and involve more stealth and less spraying. The almighty ambush rules. So I guess its close, but I'd rather play outlaw. And if I had my own field near me (have to go upstate to my friend's house with a few guys), we could get more people. ahhh, just a month now till I get my license and we can go every other weekend....

Me and my friends play outlaw all the time. Half of us live out of town (even though we're 30 min. from portland), and three have good land.
we got a flat forest with lottsa hidden trails (belly crawling!) and a big raveen to play in. the other guy gottsa big field and we built a speedball field out of old pallets, burlap, and plywood. it rocks!!
for paint, we live near paintballonline.com and get $45/case of Nel-splat or $55/case anarchy.
for air, my friend's gotta scuba tank from his dad so we refill our own and my grandpa's gotta air compressor i got on permanent "loan" for those of us w/ HP tanks

I like speedball, I don't have a way to make a very good speedball field. I like woods ball also. It is cheeper too. I'll play both a regular field or outlaw.

i live in SoCal
i've never been in trouble with the cops(for anything paintball related that is) in fact i've even gone paintballing with a cop
we don't know whether or not the place we go is privately owned or what but no one has ever given us any problems

i like field and outlaw pretty much the same
they have their pros and cons all have been mentioned before tho so i won't bother

After the Georgia thing I'm going to stay on private land and local fields (as soon as I get one), I just don't want the same thing that happened over there to happen here in Washington.

Me and my friend play mostly outlaw, It's pretty sweet because we have 4 different outlaw places. Thats probably cause we live in lower TN and everybody a bunch of land. We have nice courses too. we have made a WHOLE LOT of bunkers. My house has about 33 man made bunkers and ton's of oak trees. We only go to fields for scenario and tourneys.

IF you buy your own land ( 20 acres ) , is it still considered outlaw. WHat if i get a business license and get airsmith training and get some expierienced players to be refs. Is that outlaw.

Thanks

Buying your own land it still is. If you have a lisence and insurance its a "legal" field.I think.

If you were going to charge people to play, then you would probably have to have a liscence and insurance. Beyond that I don't really see anything in the way of it being "legal".
