intimidator
PRO's:
fast
ACE
lifetime warranty
$600
CON's
no inline regulator/foregrio
angel
PRO's
fast
many people have them
CON's
cost $1000+
no ACE
no lifetime warranty
and the winner is . . . the TIMMY!

I thought it was the other way around, I thought Angel's had lifetime warranty and Bob Long's didn't...
And what's an ACE? :eyes:

depending on what kind of angel you get it has a lifetime warranty, i think darks do. and an ACE is an anti-chop eye.
if you dont know what that is, its a lazer or eye (or on the timmi 2 of them) that senses if there is a ball fully loaded into the breech b4 allowing the gun to fire, eliminating the possibilites of chopping.
the only way i would go with an angel is if you have the money to through around and if you plan on playing in serious tournaments.

I've shot an Angel before and I like the feel of it. It's just I'm looking for something at the Angel level but cheaper. If I was to buy an Angel I would get a used one, yet if I was to get a Timmy I would buy a new one. Reliability wise & duriablity how well are the Timmy's? One thing I've noticed so far that I don't like is you have to buy the expansion chamber and certain things seperate. I think its kinda dumb when your spending that kinda money on a gun and they don't give it to you.

If you like the feel of an angel then buy a used 99' LED.. Theres nothing better IF you like the feel of angels :)

The reason that there is no inline reg is because there are two regs on the front. You can take one of those regs away and make it a volumizer but there really isn't any need to. I personally did that when I had mine. Right now I am shooting an Angel LCD. I will be getting a timmy again as soon as possible. Then the Angel will be my back up marker. I beleive that the timmy is the best marker on the market right now.

Cheapest Timmy I've seen is $579.99. How much can you get the used Angel for?
DVSAZN

The cheapest used Angel I've found is around $800. There'z a guy on E-bay offering me a used Timmy for $600, but the guy at my local pB store is offering me $625 for a brand new one... So most of you guys have an Angel or have had experience with them? Yet you guys still prefer Timmy's?

The $579 Timmy is brand new. Forgot where it was, go to PaintballWatch.com. It shows prices of different online stores.

Yeah, I think I saw that one...There'z one on E-bay for like $589.00 too...

i have seen alot of angels for about $650 (led's of course) there are alot on www.pbnation.com i would not buy a used timmi for $600 unless it is set up nicely, say with a nice inline reg and nice drop and a new barrel or sumthin.

So all in all, do you guys out there think that the Bob Long is worth the price? Do you guys feel that for the price, its a "better" gun than an Angel?

Well, of course you don't have to get your gun from your local shop. You could get it online. With the 125 you save thats maybe a used nitro tank.
Angels used for 600? I havent seen many and they are snapped up right awat. Timmy's are new for 600. No scratches or anything. For what the timmy has, get it. But I'd suggest not from your local shop.

most definately. very worth the price, i think its the best value in a marker on the market right now (for high end guns)
it is definately a better value than the angel, at half the price with an ACE and high and low pressure regs, 3-way adjustable trigger, and i think they look awesome. i think you should go for the timmi . . .
DVSAZN

Well, from the prices online & at my local pB store I don't really see that big of a price difference... I mean, the cheapest I've seen a new Timmy go for is like $589.00... Plus shipping and all that other B.S. My local pB store offering me $625 but I'm sure I can get him to go lower... Plus I get in house warranty/repairs...
Oh, and yeah Venom... So far I'm kinda leaning towards the Timmy... Price isn't that bad... I kinda don't like the grip, wish it was like most of the regular markers...

ya . . . i dunno i kinda like it. but i think bob and delta are going to be coming out with a new .45 grip frame on the next timmis. you might be able to get one of those in the future . . . not sure though. i personally kinda like the grip frame . . .

Hmmm angels...
The angel LCD is, in my opinion, the best looking marker in the universe, by a long shot. Not only is the milling on a CnC dead sexy, but the custom milling available looks even better. There are countless upgrades out there that offer no performance upgrade in the very least, yet look really cool (the twisted miniregs for example, or the barrel ball detentes). Also, with my timmy I sometimes wish I could drop some oil into it, take 10 shots of air and say "That's all the maintenance for today". You can do that with an angel, you cant do it with a timmy.
Performance wise though, I do think the timmy is better. If someone offered me the opportunity to use their angel for a tournament game while he used my timmy, I'd decline. The timmy is faster and the timmy doesnt chop. So yeah, I think going timmy instead of angel is a great choice, it's what I did :)

So is the maintence on the Timmy as light as the Angel? I've heard good things bout the Angel being that their very low attention hogs... Like I've heard bad things bout Cockers being like high maintence...
I also had this guy offer me a Timmy brand new in box for like $550.00 :D

I'd go with the Timmy. ;) Since they don't make the Angel LED anymore, I don't know if I'd wanted that, and Cockers are great once you learn them. But always remember, if it isn't broken, don't mess with it.

DVSAZN,
The maintenance is somewhat time consuming but not difficult. you basically take some things on the gun apart and lube them down with dow 55 or white lithium grease. Both of which you can get at a local building supply or hardware store. Soon my website for timmy owners will have a guide for maintenace. There is a thread ElTwitcho made with all the steps for maintaining your gun.

What's the point of having a high pressure reg & low pressure reg on the gun? Then when you disconnect high pressure reg & put a volumizer in place of it, does it just make the gun run at a lower output pressure?? What output pressure does the Timmy run at, and what does it run at after you do the LP mod?
Is it true that you can't run preset N2 tanks with Timmy's? I think I read that in someone's forum... I'm currently running a N2 tank on my Spyder that's preset at like 700 - 800 psi I think...

then you need a regulator to put the output down alot lower. and i got mine for 549 NEW.

yes.
the LED is the older style or the LE version of the 2k Angels.
the LCD is the 2k+ style.
they have different bolts, and some other different parts as well.

Yes, they are different. The LED is the older one, but a lot of people prefer it over the new LCD.
I don't know if they make the LED anymore ... anyone?

No more LED's being made, they stopped in '99 I think. A lot of players with them going into the market for a timmy or a matrix or even a shocker sell them. You can find them for about $800 with some prett good upgrades. I haven't really seen any led's cheaper than that.

well the high pressure reg controls the pressure that is in waiting behind the valve and the pressure that goes behind the ball as it is fired. the Low pressure reg controls the cocking pressure, the pressure that is used to push the bolt back and foward (with the aid of a spring, right? not sure on timmys) and the pressure you will run at with the LP mod will be around 200 (thats what most of the people who run it are around) and will work fine with a preset tank

I finally got my Timmy today! Shoots great... Now I'm ready to take it to the field... :D Can't wait to tear everyone up with it. I think I'm love.... I really think this gun is at the same level as Angel's... This gun is way to under-rated... I know you Angel lovers out there are gonna rip me for saying wut I've said but considering that I've shot both before, I honestly think their at the same level...
