I am new in paintball and I am wondering if my gun's pressure is too high and if so, what can I do about it without buying a new gun.

I have a Spyder Imagine and I am breaking paint in the barrel. I have been told that I might be using paint with too brittle of a shell.

Is there a way to lower the pressure without sacrificing preformance (not that I have a great preformer)? If so, what should I look at changing and with what brand and model of parts?

what kind of paint are you using? somehow i doubt it's the paint's thickness that's the problem. ball breaks are caused by having paint that's larger than the barrel's bore, low quality paint, and low quality barrels. also, you may have dirt in the barrel or on the paint. but to answer your original question, you have to start with a regulator. otherwise you won't even be able to change the pressure at all. read the kingman forum's stickies to find out more.

get an expansion chamber and low pressure chamber(the tube under the barrel). That better paint, and a force feed hopper should take care of the problem.

I had an imagine also and had the same problems.

its probably a small bored barrel/large bored paint, i broke so much paint with my stock. it was like .685 bore size, i was using paint around .689

dont get an expansion chamber. get a regulator, that is the way to adjust your pressure. listen to spyderman. he knows all...

anti siphon has the same effect as an expansion chamber, but its cheaper and it doesnt take up the regulator space.

get a new barrel (around .692 can handle pretty much all paint without breaks, and still pretty accurate with any paint) and a new loader (if you chop at all. or just get to make sure u never do) and you wont have to worry much about breaking paint again.

get anti siphoned co2 or hpa (highly recommended if u have the money) and a reg to make your gun a lot more consistant.

1) an expansion chamber and low pressure chamber won't help
2) this thread is a month old  hopefully the problem has been fixed by now.
