Spyders are crap. They are made in Taiwan and use metric threading and offset bottomline setups! Everyone else uses S.A.E. threading and in-line BL setups! Spyders will screw you over when you wanna upgrade them. They are only so popular because of Kingman's superior marketing ability. If you want a Spyder, buy a Piranha. Piranha's have a shorter trigger pull, they use Spyder barrels and are easier to upgrade! Always buy a Piranha over a Spyder!:blah:

Just because you spyders are made in taiwan dont necessarily mean there crap. So dont go putting markers down from where there produced. Spyders are just as upgradable then piranhas. I wouldnt know why it would be hard to put upgrades on a spyder all you have to do is either screw it in etc.

But for my choice of opinion I would choose the piranha ext pro, but if you wouldnt mind you could get the ts pro for about 10 bucks more and it comes with an aluminum trigger frame, not that the polymer grip on the ext is bad, but its comfortable. Another thing is that the ext and ts have a regulator and the shutter has a mini x chamber or regulator whatever you want to call it :)

I would definitly go wit da Piranha Pro EXT G3 but hey thats just my opinion. but i also heard that the shutter is a good gun. and maybe you should have asked this question in a general forum because if you askin it in the PMI section than chances are your gonna get a biased opinion.;)

Whoa man! I'd just like to state for the record that i am no gun basher, especially not based on where they are produced. If you have owned a Spyder (like me) you will know the hardships of upgrading one, due to their metric hose lines and off-set BL's. This is all I was pointing out. I understand the differences in both makes of gun and am just stating that I find the Piranha to be superior (I don't even own one, but have tested several). The Spyders are reliable guns for the most part, but upgrading them will turn into a money wasting hassle, because you have to buy metric or BL adaptors. This is NOT the case with the Piranha, as all threading is standard and it utilizes standard WGP BLs, making adding new chambers, regs and dropforwards very easy. I respect each gun type for its differences, and dont normally bash a gun for being different, unless we are talking Brass Eagle :D . Also it is occasionally fun to pick on Automag owners:D , just cause I own a 'Cocker.

Yeh I see where your going but why did you put it was made from taiwan ;) and because they're crap just because you gotta buy some adaptors, but everybody has their own opinion :)

Okay I think we are on even ground now. Really it is all a matter of taste and opinion. I for one don't care too much for expansion chambers, I really don't see what they have over a good regulator. Also anyone who has owned a Shutter, TL Plus or Xtra, all know that mini x-chamber isn't worth monkey poo! LOL. The Shutter's reg is terribly inefficient and cant compete with the PE Reg on the Piranha. This is gonna be my last post in this topic, as I feel me and monkey boy have gone on and on. Feel free to PM me monkey boy.

i would go w/the ext pro g3 because you get the regulator and flush cocking system and a nice d/f, + ram air chamber

i am also looking at pro ts.. few questions.
is the regulator on it good, or crappy?
im not exactly sure what the ram air chamber does.. could someone help me?

whats the pressure gauge do? (i know some of these may be stupid questions.. im an idiot.)

questions to owners... does the vertical feed make the sight rail useless?

how much upkeep on the gun is needed, and how reliable is it? I dont want to really have to replace the internals.. like the bolt and crap.

i think the gun has cool stuff on it but at a cheap price are there cheap parts on it?

Its a good reg. Alot of people use them.

The ram air is a lpc. It is so you dont experience shoot down during rapid fire.

The guage tells you what PSI your gun is operating at.

Using a sight in paintball is pretty worthless but if you want to you can use a red dot sight and just keep both your eyes open when using it.

You have to oil and clean the gun after every outing but it is easy because of the strip pin.

No the parts arent cheap.
