Is there any or a noticeable amount of side to side play on timmy triggers?

I have a real problem with side to side play (makes the trigger feel cheap).

If there is noticeable amount, would someone be able to help me out with a step by step way to install shims to get rid of it?

Thanks.

Get a block buster card. Use those as shims. An old bank card or credit card or the like is just a little to thick. The block buster cards are just the right size.

Sometimes the side to side play can help when shooting fast. It might generate a little bit of "bounce".

Take you grip panels off. There will be a screw that hold the trigger in. Make them as big as you can. I didn't do it to my timmy when I had it. I loved my trigger.

Well, I love the side to side play. To me its something to do when im not shooting. its not a big bother that people make it out to be.

Yeah, there's a fairly large amount of sideplay in a timmy's trigger. It helps you shoot faster, but if you dont like it, you can cut a piece of plastic out of a 2 litre bottle about the size of your thumbnail. Cut a hole in that, and place the screw that holds your trigger in through that piece of plastic. Sideplay gone

Twitcho, can you give a little more info on this. Does it requre the full trigger disassembly? Basically, WHICH screw are you putting the plastic around? Inside or outside the gun? ProkChop wanted me to do the mod before shipping his gun, but I wasn't sure exactly what you meant to do.

Woops my bad. Yes it does require some trigger disassembly. Take off the LCD side grip panel and just sorta stick it to the side. Remove the big fat screw that holds the trigger in. Cut a hole in your shim about the diameter (or slightly larger) of the "big fat trigger holding in screw". Slide the shim between the trigger and frame (as in, the little crack between the LCD side of your trigger and the trigger frame). Line up the hole on the shim with the hole in the trigger that the screw goes through. Install the screw. The trigger is alot tighter but still with some play (some is good). It takes some practice to slide the shim in properly, something that helps is if you pull the trigger out towards the trigger guard, then install the shim. From there, push the trigger back in (it doesn't come out all the way) and the shim will slide in along with it. It is sorta tricky, but with maybe 5 minutes work at the most you can get it in there, with no plastic from the shim showing (who wants ugly plastic screwin up their gun's looks). A note of caution, if you cut the diameter of the hole on the shim too small, it's gonna cause your trigger to feel really tight and won't slide freely. however, if you cut it too big, it really wont make much difference at all. I can post some pics later tonight if it's still unclear, but it's really simple once you try it

I just did that to my bushy (read: 10 minutes ago), and i can tell you, the credit card will be too thick. Grab a pack of batteries, and use the clear plastic covering them as the shims, You pretty much have to do it to both sides, or the trigger might bind. if it's to thick, the trigger will stick, or bind. Good luck.
