RTB just gained A LOT of respect. WTI may not be a Harvard or Yale, but hard determination plus a tech degree WILL get you some where.
Edit: restoring cars is a great thing, but too much focus on American cars! Hah, well even with GMs and Fords working on cars is still plenty fun! Restoring a 2002 (old Beemer) would be a DREAM project. But my dad wouldn't help me, so it isn't likely. A goal for the future maybe!

Art, you're status just went WAY up. Dont get too cocky, you're still a loser and we still hate you for driving Yoda off, but i totally agree about the 2002. My friend has (or had-not sure, he might have sold it for college) an old 2002, that thing was a beast. it was pretty slow, but the exhaust note was just sick, and its got that "classic" BMW look, you can see the resemblance in the new 3 series coupes. too bad my friend took it over a couple speedbumps at 45mph and had to get the suspension replaced, but other than that it is completely old school.

BTW, I think BMW's are spelled "Bimmer". I believe "Beamer" refers to BMW motorcycles. not sure, if some1 wants to prove me wrong go ahead.

I did not drive Yoda away fully. I do NOT want to sound disrespectful AT ALL, AT ALL, AT ALL but I believed he was acting slightly immature. And after the BMW changed the kidney grill from tall and narrow to short and fat, none of the pre 198? to post that year BMWs REALLY looked alike. For the 3-class before this outgoing one (2005 3-class is HOTZ) there was a costly front-end kit to make those gen. BMWs have an old style front end.

i personally like bimmer's except for the fact that they have wimpy engines if you dropped a 4-6 liter engine in there i would be a little more happy with them, my dad had Bimmer's his whole life until 98 then he has had suburban's ever since... btw have fun jtramo, getting more OT i never knew till my dad told me but the H1 is still made by the company that makes the humvee, chevy just bought the rights to the HUMMER and took the suburan chassy, and engine and put a new body on it... i found that interesting

WTI is "the harvard" of the auto restoring world :D

Does RTB go to WTI?

And for me, a 1970 Boss 429 would be the ultimate, well one of the ultimates.

429, big sucker. Restoring a 2002 with the classic BMW 1.3 is more...fun!

well BMW's are classic, but you can't argue with displacement. The Boss 429 is probly the coolest Mustang ever. That and the Shelby 400GT, but thats a shelby, so it only semi-counts as a 'stang. I'm really looking foward to the new mustang BTW. I'm glad they actually brought the mustang back after all these years (The past 3 mustang designs haven't been "real" mustangs in my eyes). I'm kinda worried that they didnt give it an independent rear suspension but other than that Ford finally hit a home run.

I'm more of a porschephile though. Without a doubt one of the best sports cars ever made is the 911. 959 is an amazing car also, especially for the time.

I like porsche's too. My dad owned one when I was young so that got me hooked to cars.

The '05 stang should be sweet, do you know the hp?

oh yeah, JT's done a buncha sweet avatars. Rchili's, art's, some others.

not sure exactly on the hp for the 05 'stang. I think around 220? the GT will probly have around 300, the cobra will probly have around 400.

lucky for you, I just happen to have that issue sitting on the floor right behind me, I just forgot till now.

Base model has a 4.0-liter SOHC V-6 with 202hp.

GT has a 4.6-liter SOHC V-8 gives 300hp. it is modified, with 3-valve heads and variable valve timing.

And the Cobra is still way off in the distance, but they are aiming for 400hp.

available with 5-speed manual or crap-o-matic transmission.

Sorry, we kinda hijacked your thread :P

And I'm glad that one of them broke into the 400's, well hopefully it will.

as long as its cars a little hijacking is fine.. thats why im leaving anyway loll.
i tihnk the bottom line now is, i might be getting a '67 valiant... car is perfect aside from it having a slant-6.. so im just gonna drive it w/ the leaning tower of power (or lack) untill i can find a decent motor to throw in it

artshark

What exactly is a slant 6? Is it an inline where all the cylinders are like /?

I hate 'stangs, but I know this: Ford plans to let SVT again have their fun with the new 'Stang, so expect something like the GT engine turbocharged or something. ::Doesn't know how American car companies make cars sporty::

slant 6 was mopar's big "economy" motor from the 60's thru early 80's (atleast i tihnk its 80's)
yes.. its an inline 6 where the whole motor is slanted (dont ask why.. i dont know lol)
http://www.19333.com/kelly/engine1.jpg
basically.. 80% of cheap mopar a-body projects have them.. luckilly the swap out of 'em isnt that hard
i only wish i could find a 340-4spd car sitting in some old lady's back yard
