Well, I got caught playing in the rain this weekend. Now the LCD screen on my R2K is funked up. The paddles still spin but the timer and ball counter are useless.

This happen to anybody else? How'd you fix it? It was a 1st gen R2k with the loud motor, so I was going to send it in anyway..........

post what they tell you, i would be interested in knowing what they will do. i dont really mind the motor noise on mine too much (mines pretty new) but i would really like a mute option . . .

Sending R2K in/ e-mail: I e-mailed them months ago and no response. On the website they say they'll fix loud motors. Guess I'll just have to call and get a return authorization #.

Mute: There is a way to mute it. It's in the instructions. Something like "hold in a button or two while turning it on."

They told me to give them your address and they would send you a new motor but that doesnt help with the timer. Or the LCD.

They want my address? Huh? I'll PM it to you. You in tight with that company or what?

I had some free time and I took the WHOLE thing apart. Even took the LCD screen off the circut board. I'll let everything dry out.

I will take that new motor...... :)

Drying out over night did not work. The LCD is still messed up. I might pay $20 for a new one, but they MAKE you turn in the old one? :|

Note: The smallest screw does NOT go at the front tip of the R2K. It goes at the feed neck. My R2K now has a small, pointy nipple.

I e-mailed Rickochet using their website form, and the next day I had a response saying a new motor was on the way. I didn't ask about a new LCD thinking they would want $20. I'll see about that sometime this winter.

I should have a new motor in a few days w/o sending it in! Woowoo!

just head over to radioshack with the power statistics, and the lcdc off yours, they will halp you find one, and it should work, you do know how to solder right? if not, they might do it for you for $$, and next time, read my post on playing in the rain over in the Impulse forum, its under snow/rain +Impulse=?

do you think they would send me some new shells? i didnt sand mine down (the feed neck) so it was really tight on my gun (sonic low rise with an oring:| ) and eventually the pressure just get to it and a little peice broke off 1 shell at the bottom of the feed tube. i still have the blank warranty, i forgot to fill it out . . . do you think i would get new shells or should i just leave it (it still works)?

and you say post on the forum? cuz i didnt know where to say something on their site . . . ill check again . . .

well they say if you sand the feed too much theyll give you a new shell, so just grind up the feed, and claim you "sanded" too much (They will probably give you a new shell)
