ok...this is the second time I've played with my new impulse...first time I had some bolt sticking probs but I adjusted the dwell and pressure and its all good now but I have another problem (which is probably my fault 2) the gun is leaking air, very slowly. I dont think Its comeing from the reg, it sounds like its comeing from the inside of the gun (but I could be mistaken) its a very faint hiss and the leaking air causes the first shot of a string to just roll out of the barrel or double feed but when fired rapidly the gun works very well and is still extremly accurate...after I played yesterday I took the gun apart and lubed it up, all the o-rings look good (its loobed up) and I made sure to tighten everything down but it still has the leak. has anybody had this problem? I havent messed with the solonoid(sp) or the valve (I will as soon as I recover my allen wrench) but it still sounds like its comeing from the inside...please help, thanx

What's your input pressure set at? Is the Imp brand new or just new to you? (Who'd you buy it from?) Are you using c02 or nitro? And have you played with the solenoids at all? Sorry for all the questions, but inquiring minds want to know!

all revelant questions...its a new impulse, I got it from FOM, useing nitro (68ci 4500 hyper flow 420 only filled to 2.8k-3kpsi), no I havent messed with the solonoid (meaning I havent taken it out of the gun kuz I'm not really sure how to do that) and I set the pressure to180psi but when I tightened down the allen bolt I think it might have gone up to like 185 for a while but it went back to 180 later that day...oh and I was shooting ab about 285fps but it was kinda inconsistant unless I was shooting a string....

Baptism by fire! Yes sir E! Ya probably have gotta get into the solenoid now bro. Sorry but it sounds as if the little gaskets(pad) is loose or has got alittle piece of dirt in there causing your problem. Just go slow and don't strip any threads.

ok....it does kinds sound like its comeing from that area...how do you take out the solonoid without breaking anything??
thanx

Just go slow and use your head not your muscles, don't strip any threads. Here is a link that should be alot of help.http://www.smartparts.com/page/98
Be careful of the little rocker micro switch that works off your trigger, they bend way too easy!

also, make sure you put the valve cap back on right, a friend put his on wrong, he almost ordered a kit to fix it when i told him he jsut had his solenoid cap on backwards(or would it be upside down?

I have had that same probelm twice adn both were my fault but all you have to do is make sure the gasket is not loose.

Looking good man. Way to go KK. Someday you might be a great mod that knows it all.;)

Impy4335-You can't put the valve cap on Backwards. Unless we are not talking about the same thing here. You are talking about the cap that holds the cone spring in place right?

Killer: yep that was the first time opening the solenoid....now I have a much better understanding of how the gun works....the valve works kinda like the 3 way in an autococker....and I have already delt with the microswich on the bord kuz I've messed with my trigger a bit...is pretty delecate...the impy is built pretty solid cept fer the bord and houseing....somebody should really make some sorta gasket between the gun frame and the upper body...ne'way thanx again fer the advise....saved me alot of trouble...
