you HAVE to take it to a professional to get it annodized. No "ifs" "ands" or "buts" about it

Damn straight. As it stands, you can get it annod for a couple hundred bucks, or you can get it powdercoated for 100 I believe

twitcho twitcho twitcho... i spray painted my gun fade for 10 bux and it still looks very good no scratches or anything. i would not spraypaint a nice gun but on something like a tippmann, spyder, piranha. i would. just strip the paint that is on it, put on some nice primer, get some spray paint (automotive works the best) put on multiple coats. then put on some clear sealer and it holds up pretty nicely. the reason i did not get it powder coated is because it would cost almost as much as my gun. now on the cocker or Timmy i am getting, let me tell you spray paint will NEVER even get close to it. for a better more in depth report go to www.m98center.com the way i told you about is how i did it there are other ways in the how to section of the site.

o forgot to tell you how to fade before you put the clear stuff on paint the gun the darker color first then after that has time to dry paint the other half the lighter color. when you get to where you want the fade just put on less paint till it goes to the fade you want. then the dark half of your gun will prob need some touch ups where some of the lighter color stuck. if you have any more questions just PM me.

it has lasted 8months and i actually thought that i would need to touch up every time i played but i have yet to need to and i have played about once every 3 weeks. it has minor scratches only and they are mostly by the screws. (when i put the screws in for the first time it damaged the paint but it was not that bad so i did not care) i have treated my model 98 pretty well but i play mostly woods (for lack of good speed ball fields around here) and i was never afraid to do what needed to be done to win (i played and did not think about scratching the gun). i really would recommend just spray or automotive painting your gun if its only like a model 98 or spyderand you want to save money, as i said before when i get a nice gun i will never let spraypaint be in the same room let alone on my gun.

you can get your marker green and black tiger striped for $35. I don't know about more extensive designs though.

Anyone remember the adress for Sin?

Duh, Model 98! The crappiest metal went into the gun. At SOME places, they cant anondize it cuz the cheap metal was in the body. And why do you think they scratch so easily other than the crappy anondizing skillz.

they are cast metal so they can be cheaper (cost not quality) and you can still paint them. but don't anodize them. they are still the same metal other guns use just cast instead of milled or other such things. the procarbine is milled i think and thats why its more expensive.

I can airbrush elaborate designs with my brush and a lot of time. It's easy to do fades, flames, etc.... The hard stuff is when you start making **** look like those spanky graveyard cockers and such...then of course you have to use special paint if you want it powdercoated over. I Had nice black flames on a reverse red/orange/yellow fade on my spyder...but it kept comming off...b/c I didnt' prime it correctly and It was cheep paint, so I completely stripped it. OH well...

Aluminum is the only metal that can be anoed to my knowledge. I think he's right though...there's something similar with brass and I believe titanium which is sorta like ano...not sure if it's called ano though.

Incorrect. Moodydoody, you are the weakest link, goodbye.

Other metals can be powder coated. Powder coated is more detailed than anod but isn't as strong as anodizing. Its quite cheap at Sin Customs, especially in Canada since Sin is in Missisauga.
