i need to interview someone who is very much involved in paintball, has a long history playing it and knows everything about it, perferably people who played when paintball just came out to now.

well all i know is that it started out by a bunch of farmers that used paintgun like "markers" to mark their cattle, then one day a couple farmers got together and started shooting each other. W/O any proper safety gear, I really dont know the year.

if i could get ahold of my sis' b/f he played paintball when it first came out(1983) he remembers talking w/ his friends about how much they wanted to get like a nelson marker

Ok, to start off with the First Record Paintball Game played was in July 1981 in New Hampshire in the woods with gear and guns. But Farmers were the first to "invent" the game using a paint markers to mark there cattle . They shot each other for fun. The Guns were Splat Masters.
The first company to actually make paintballs was Nelson.
Paintball was played in the woods for a very looong time untill speed ball and other concept fields were made.
The first comercial full auto gun made was the SMG-60 by Tippman.
