I have a problem with my Phantom. The hammer doesn't seem to be catching the bolt I'll try and draw a picture.

I know its kind of crude but the problem seems to be that the hammer isn't pressed up far enough to begin with. I put 2 washers on the Power Tube but I'm afraid this may ruin the marker after a while.

maybe the spring in the hammer that kinda like "clicks" and holds the bolt in place is old and broked. Might wanna try get a new hammer.

check that place out and look under "upgrades" and in the "phantom section" they have new spring kits and stuff. Or bet yet. go to www.phantomonline.com and talk to Mike (the maker) himself and tell him your problem. THe number is on the website. He's a real nice guy to.
good luck and I hope ya get it workin

Is the gun gased up? The nelson based guns don't cock when degassed.

actually some nelsons do cock without being pressurized. but...
did you try removing the internals? try to mimic the cocking action outside the body, maybe you can see what's going on.

Yes, I think if you have a stiff enough valve spring, some will cock. I know my friend's phantom cocks while depressurized, but I don't think mine does. The hammer isn't in backwards, is it? I'm not sure if it's possible to do that on a phantom, but I know it is on some other nelsons.

haha don't ask me if the hammer is backwards... i can't tell from here! is it? the little hook part should be facing the bolt.
