ok i want a barrel for custom 98. any suggestions? i want extreme accuracy and distance for an awordable price (under $150) . i was kinda looking at a J&J ceramic 14" and a flatline. Flatlines are supposed to shot hella far but i heard not to much about accuraccy. The J&J ceramic 14" is suppose to have pretty good accuracy but i don't know about distance. can anyone help me?

Lapco Bigshot: Peforms consistently better than all of the barrels you have mentioned. I have tried all of the barrels you have mentioned plus tons more. Take my advice, get a Lapco Bigshot and you won't be dissapointed.

how about a 32 degrees sniper barrel on my custom 98?

How about a 32 degrees terminator. They perform excellent for cheap. Not quite as accurate as the bigshot, but they are pretty good for the money. Also, they are quiet. They have alot of porting down the side to release the gas that causes the pop. They do use a little more air though (not noticeable).

hmmm it sounds like a pretty sweet barrel. im kind of the sniper for my team and i want extreme accuraccy and good range. Do you think the sniper barrel or the terminator barrel would do better?

what about a 32 Degree Ice Cold 14'? it sounds awsome and it has a good review mark (9.7)

Stick with a SmartParts All American (VERY quiet, very accurate, and good range), or a J&J 14" Ceramic. (Fairly quiet, good accuracy, decent range...that's what I own.) And it's cheaper than most barrels. Don't bother with 32 degrees. Or the Bigshot. If you're a sniper type...you want to be quiet. I don't think you'll get that with the Bigshot...not compared to the SP AA anyway...

Believe me it does. Check it out at county. The 32 terminator is very quiet, more so than the big daddy. The bigshot is load, but so are real life sniper rifles. It is all about position.

I bought a 12" AA from www.firstcallpaintball.com and it is pretty quiet, but the range is the best characteristic. I always thought the same ball would shoot the same distance out of any barrel, provided the velocity is equal. When i first shot this barrel, I knew that wasn't true. The spiral porting really does help with more distance. It sucks to squeegie though. It's a good barrel for $40 (I got the 2001).

and if your looking into smart parts consider a tear drop

there 50 bucks and are quiet and really accurate. But if your gonna spend more bucks than get an all american (smart parts of course) its a better barrel

Another person. finally, this is not true. physics will back me up and make you look like a fool. the AA shoots more consistantly making it look as if the ball flies further and travels a straighter path but it does not. its one of those all-in-your-head things.

Did all of you guys miss my last post?

Take this to the Barrel forum! This doesn't belong in the Tippmann forum! These are not Tippmann questions!

He did ask what barrel is best for his Tippmann. I'm somwhat new to paintball but figured different barrels perform differently in different guns (if i'm wrong please correct me). If this gets moved to the barrel forum then he'll get opinions from people with all different guns and not specifically related to the 98 Custom. A sticky on barrels for Tippmans would be better. Anybody want to start one?
