Are paintball cleats useful? OR are they just one of those useless expensive things that you don't need in almost every sport?

personally i think useless. you could get football or soccer cleats that will work just as well or better.

A good way to wrangle money from new players, it seems. If you really want/need that traction, bo buy some from a sporting goods store/Second hand sports store. Buying paintball cleats designed for paintball seems exceedingly pointless.

I wear boots/Tennis shoes. Therefore I lose every game.

there's no need for pb specific cleats. baseball cleats will work just as well.

i was thinking about this as well..
someone else advised though that they are made alot more confortable then regualr sports cleats -

ive never worn sports cleats either so i dont know..

my main concern are do they make regualr sports cleats with enough ankle support to run through the woods..i know they do with teh PB shoes..

i wore boots (old docs ) last time and they killed my feet - all of my sneakers are like lowwer cut new balance (good grip but not to much ankle support or airwalk style sneakers.. no grip - flat bottoms.

I either wear DC's or football cleats. Some prefer soccer cleats, that's your decision.

I wear turf shoes from my soccer days and for the woods I bought a pair of Nike ACG's with lots of tread. I get the traction I need for long grass, hard ground and everything in between and don't worry about looking like I'm in the world series. My nike's cost exactly $15 in the bargain bin at one of the outlets too. I also have a pair of Dye shoes that I won in a give away ... they're good on hard ground but not much more.

Just think of them as "More expensive" sports cleats.
Just use cheap running shoes with nice souls.

The paintball cleats are really just made ot PSP/NPPL/ECT... regulations such as no meteal cleats or tracks. Also they just have the JT/DYE/Draxxus name.

I use my court shoes for indoor fields and they work great. But for woodsball I use my pair of Adidas. It's funny when the next monday I show up for practice and they have dirt all over them. I need to get a new pair. I wish I could afford a pair of Kelmes...

I used to use my baseball cleats until one day when I slid into a bunker the cleats managed to get exceptional grip on the ground and I ended up spraining my ankle. My body went horizontal but my foot didn't if you get what I'm saying ;) So, I usually advise against cleets but if you think that they'd help you're game somehow then go for it. I think it'd be cheaper to get cleats that are used for another sport like Baseball or Football.
