If you could get any gun, or a combination of a gun w/ barrel for $300 or under....what would it be?

My dad said I could spend $300 on it.. so i need some opinions..

I was thinking of getting a Tippmann 98 Custom, GT Commando 2, or a 32 Degrees/98 Custom...or a Messiah....

Remember, it doesnt have to be any of the above, that's just what i was looking at...what would you pick?

P.S.
Does the Flatline have more "cons" than it does "Pros"?

Id say get a spyder TL plus and a Smart Parts All American barrel. I have a Spyder TL+ and a Smart Parts All American barrel myself w/ alot of other upgrades. Anyways, The Spyder TL+ is a great gun and i would recomend it anyday.

Yes, by all means go with some fellow's suggestion to use his setup because thats what works for him for the moment...

Look into the subject carefully. Check out your local shops - because when you have an issue - you'll want to talk to them about it. Buy local and get your support local. Thats important.

One of my team players has a flatline and on a level playing field, he can dominate. What he lacks is rate of fire... Its a little slow... So you got to ask yourself what kinda player are you? Get a systems that works well with your style - your field conditions etc...

My local store here could set you up with a full package Spyder or Piranha plus a custom barrel for 300. (Base model guns you can upgrade later - but a barrel is a good first move)

Either your a little harsh in that phrase, or you forgot you :) remember smilies help, but batman was just giving him a reccomendation, ya know?
I agree with Batman in fact. I made the mistake of spending too much money on the shutter (too much money isn't all put to waste though, it works sweet, but i coulda saved some money :() and i just don't wanna lead a new comer the same way i went. Save some money, get a spyder compact starter package, they are almost unbeatable! or if you already have a mask and other stuff, custom configure you own little dealy. Taking advice from another person who started out with a high grade gun is not the best, because they had it easy ;) (believe me though, i started out with a good ol talon!)
Saying that "you shouldn't take advice from someone else on which gun to buy, because everyone has different opinions" is wrong. After all, what is a forum for? To get advice on the guns and advice on which one to buy. So people, ease up on the opinion dissing, cause remember, every little bit helps ;)

Aye - I forgot the :D ... My Bad.

I was just pointing out that what "Works" can change REALLY FAST. My STS G2 is doing fine for me... AT THE MOMENT.
Heck - in two months I might be running a full blown Cocker... or a Warped feeding E-mag.

if i were you i would get a custom 98 and upgrade with a vertical expansion chamber and a new barrel(lapcos are good)
this is a great setup for a new player, and the gun is indestructable. another benefit from this setup is you have tons of upgrades if you want them, this gun can vary greatly

id get a spyder x-tra and a J&J ceramic, lapco, Cp, or dye. Whatever floats your boat. id go with the xtra (180 @ my local shop) because it is a shutter that is without all the stupid stuff (reg, crapy blue ano, tiny dropforward, major design flaws, etc.) thats what i would get.

Heh. Choices choices. I first had a paintball gun and it was a stingray. I told my dad it was broken so I could get a new gun. Because It was broken. I Didnt know ****. I made the biggest mistake of my life. I got a Model 98. I should have gotten a GT 2000. Lets see.

You should get a Spyder Tl Plus with a Lapco Bigshot and Dye Sticky Grip. :):)

I made a great decision to get my gun, look at specs to see what it is. I love the way it feels and I got it back yesterday with my new modified steel braided hose(gotta change the sig about that) and custon drop forward. The drop forward is a pretty big drop and it feels great. Next week I'm getting a double trigger, i soooo can't wait, yay!
Hey Witt, what don't you like about your m98? All the people I know with them love theirs.

If you really want to, get a Rebel LE 160, CP flame drop forward 34, Dye boomstick 105(or another good high end barrel) and or a remanufactured vl 9 vt loader 30, and or 32 degreese ex chamber ???. A self made trigger job is a really good idea.

well...being new...and probably not knowing what half the things splat attack is talking about...I would get a marker that is good to go..for now.....and get a new barrel......until you can do some research on how and or what you want your marker to be.....

with that I agree with Batman and get maybe....spyder TL+ 160$..it is a good starter gun right out of the box..and it will be easy for you to learn about and up grade....

I know the tippmann fans will say that about the 98 also..
but I like the spyder design myself....

Another great choice would be the new spyder x-tra like blinkpk11 said ...it is a cross between a TL+ and a shutter...with vetical feed..

If I were to do it again...Like smartball I bought the shutter...(and quickly ended up changing everything)...I would probably get an X-tra....as my first marker

either way......the best thing you can do to improve your new marker is to get a barrel....
the all amerian is good....like some one said....or the Lapco big shot.(my personal choice)45$.....or a J&J ceramic, dye or cp.....
