ok heres the deal....a friend of mine wants to buy an impulse...he has a pimped out spyder with a palmer reg on it and he's really juced about palmer regs, he says he wants to take the max flow off and just use his palmer....I keep telling him that the max flow is a good reg....what should he do? and I wanted to know if it would be a waste to run dule regs (palmer and a max flow) with a fixed output nitro tank....(I was thinking if he really wanted to use his stabilizer he could get a non vertical max flow and use his vert stabilizer as a secondary\grip....please let me know what would be the best thing to do...I'm leaning more tword the max flow kuz its got that co2 filter...but I think he's gonna mostly run nitro anyway....thanx l8

I dual reg my Imps. I've got Armageddons on all my markers that I run at 500psi. And on the vertical Regs I drop down to 180psi. And you are right it is overkill. The maxflo system is really all one needs, So I think your idea is a good one!

He is actually running 3 regs. One is a preset on the tank and then the Max and the palmers. All he needs is the Max Flo. IMO the Max flow is the a lot better than the palmers. He is getting the Max flow with his Impulse why would he want to get rid of it.
Is the Palmers set up for pressures below 200 psi, because the Impulse will have some serious problems above 200 psi. Try to change his mind about not using the Max Flow. It is one of the best if not the best reg on the market.

I'm pretty sure the palmer reg is ok for LP....that's what he says anyway...another friend of mine has a cocker with a palmer reg and he runs at 250psi or something like that.....so whats better about the maxflow? and say you got a dual regulated nitro tank like dinaflow or something...would you still need the max flow?...thanx fer the advise...
This soulds stupid-- but read it twice if you don't understand what i mean.
Its not a question of how good the reg is, its a question of how good the reg is at 150 PSI
The demands on a reg changer greatly when you get outside of its "comfort zone" changing sprigs may make a reg work at different pressures, it an issue of how well it works at those low pressures.
The Max Flo is a pressure compsating reg. The palmer is not. A pressure comensating reg will fuction propely at a much wider range of pressures. By fourcing a Palmer to fuction at around 150, you very much limit the input pressure range you can use.
Stick with the Maxfl to run the gun. If for some resiln you absoluting hate the max flo- get a center flag.

What about using two max-flo regs? they make a high pressure one right? that you could use to adjust your tank output, going into the lp max flo that came with the gun. am I way off base here? thought I saw the high pressure max flo on smart parts homepage.
The Maxflo is a great reg-- you don't need 2 to get the jub done. Only one maxfo is needed--that is the advanage of a pressure comsating reg-- you can use basicly the same reg to handle 4500 psi as you do 800 psi.
You realy don't need a whole string of regs
