Just getting into the sport and bought myself a Tippmann Custom 98 w/ RT. I put a brand new dead on drop on the gun and have only used it once for target practice.

Yes, I realize I need to get a new barrel!

I used up my 12oz CO2 tank and everything was great. I have a brand new, unused 20oz tank and that I've threaded onto the drop a couple of different times.

Each time, I can hear and feel CO2 coming out of my drop. It's not coming out around the hose as I've used teflon tape on that connection thread. When I shot with it, I get a white cloud of CO2 and the drop gets real cold.

Is this a problem with my 20oz tank o-ring or is something wrong with my drop? Thanks

If the drop works fine with your 12 oz. it's definitely not the drop.

Stuff getting cold when shooting with co2 is normal.

the leak probably has to do with you o-ring, check for any sort of imperfections no matter how minor, i'll bet you'll find some.

Question: Have you constantly removed the tank's o-ring? If so, then you most likely permanantly distended it, so just put a new one on, and keep your curiosity in check.

see if the drop has o rings on the pin

Definetly sounds like an o-ring problem. There should be one on the end of the threads there, check that to make sure it's intact. Take your 12oz and compare it to the 20oz and look for any differences around the pin of the tank and in that general area.

Thanks guys. I changed out the O-ring and retaped my threads and now everything is tight.
