I real new to this, so, have some patience with me. I've read the sticky about paint and bore size and I still have a question.

Is it better to have a "tight" fit with your paint and barrel? Advantages? Disadvantages?

Example such as paint is .689 and barrel is .689 versus your barrel being .691 or .693?

I do understand that if your paint is too big that you're going to have problems.

Thanks

Personally, it's better to go with a tight fit than loose fit but there is no real accepted answer to this question. A tight fit will maximize efficiency but you don't want too tight of a fit.

tight fit w/o being too tight helps u take advantage of the quality of the barrels insides. if its too tight, ull break paint inside your barrel.

a loose fit will cause your paint to have a gap between the walls of the barrel and the paint. with that said, that gap will let out excess co2 or air depending on what u use. this will make u lose a lot of unneccasary co2/air. also, theoretically, the ball is sitting on the bottom of the barrel's wall, meaning that as it rolls out, the barrel wall will apply a sping to the ball causing it to flow downwards quicker than normal.
