Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children

What do you guys predict? A flop or huge success?

For those of you who don't know, FFVII : AC is a 60-80 minute all FMV movie from Square-Enix set two years after Sephiroth is "killed" by Cloud and company.

Personally, I think it's going to be great. I'm very upset it's not a game but I'll take what I can get if it's from FFVII, the best Final Fantasy game thus far. Although, the main reason for the making of this movie is because of the sheer popularity of a game that has been around for 7 years. By gaming standards FFVII is outdated but everyone still plays it and raves about it.

My thoughts about it:
I hope they don't cast Mr. T as the voice of Barret.
Hopefully Yuffie and Cait Sith will not be in it, unless they are killed early.
It will give a whole new generation of pre teens a chance to swoon over Tifa's gargantuan breasts.
Cloud had better not ***** and moan about Aeris the whole time.
There had better be lots of cactuars!!!
I wonder if Cid will be smoking a cigarrete the whole time.
It can hopefully answer the previously unanswered.
I hope the chocobo music is used somewhere.

There is no way it can be worse than Spirits Within. I think it has some promise to it but Sephiroth has short hair! wtf man. it like defeats the point of him being a character.

It's actually not Sephiroth. The expectation is that Sephiroth is the man in the white cloak in the chair. If so, you can't see any of his face which mean it is possible. The man with the short hair is the leader of the SHM, Silver Hair Men. They're like The Turks but independent from ShinRa.

Morox, the chairman of Square-Enix has said that there is no reason to re-make FFVII for the Playstation II since the current version already works on it. I can understand that though I'm quite disappointed. I would love to see a FFVII re-make with PS2 graphics. Or maybe even a FFVII-2 game built from Advent Children.

I agree w/ Empyreal Rogue, I'd like to see a FVII re-make/update on one of the newer consoles....just because I didn't get a chance to play FVII and went straight to FVIII.

Seems like I'm missing out on a lot by not playing FVII

Those are rumors of a re-release of FFVII. I heard it a long time ago but the president of Square-Enix denied the project. He said there was no need to do it. Trust me, I'm as sad as the next man about it. A re-release of FFVII with new stuff or just with better graphics would be good enough for me. Maybe the aftermath of the killing of Sephiroth. I'd like to know what happens after the endless stars.

And FFVII : AC is going to be a DVD, I don't know why it would be released for PSP only.

well one night i got deep into FF7 on the boards of gamefaqs and i assumed that it would be one of his clones or maybe it would be him. I always thought for some reason at the end of FF7 you fought one of his clones and he was still out there. Those guys on gamefaqs really dive deep into the psychology and story line of it all. Some times its reasuring to see how much thought the developers put into the story line

Oh yeah, there's always the possibility that the real Sephiroth never died or he did but there are clones equally as powerful. That's a big reason I'd rather see a PS2 FFVII-2 game than the FMV movie. Though I'll take what I can get.

my thoughts exactly, yea i wonder what all kind things they are gonna import.. like summons,chocobos(they have to have chocobos),etc.


I hope its gonna be a great movie for a while i had a desktop of it.. its where cloud is jumping of to fight sephiroth or one of those silver hair men..pretty good stuff

FF7 will actually go by rather fast once you get into it and once it is all over you find yourself wanting more.:(

I had a golden chocobo on my original game. The breeding system is messed up tho. I was trying to breed 2 wonderful chocobos to get a green but it turns out only great chocobos will work. I secksed a lot of chickens before i figured that out.

teehee teh chicken comment made me chuckle aloud. Anyways I also had a golden chocobo...Ah...I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 13 years of age with no strategy guide or internet and it took me a whole frikken saturday to get that beast. Needless to say I went to sleep that night not satisfied but a very very bitter child.

After looking at some of the stills from Advent Children the movie starts to look really fake, as in clay and doll like. I know that perfection is to high of a standard. But I hope that the constant moving video clouds the fact that all the models look like clay when still. Advent Children looks Grrrreeaaat! :P I only got like a third way through the game but man It was fun (When I first got introduced to the Chocobos) I hope the movie doesn't require to know extensive previous knowledge of the game. Man, I can't wait for September!

c'mon man you gotta get farther. That game is too good not to finish. It should be a prerquisite to all video games, just because it is the essential rpg.

A limited-edition DVD will also be available for a hefty 29,500 yen ($275). The limited edition includes a toy figure of Cloud and his motorbike Fenrir, as well as an additional DVD that features an original FFVII anime short, titled "Last Order: Final Fantasy VII," and a special edition of the Final Fantasy VII PlayStation game. Both the normal and limited edition will be released on September 14. The full list of bonus items featured in the limited edition is listed below.

Now I've read (PcGamer my mag) they're making a Deus Ex movie, and Doom movie. Yet parts in Doom are supposed to be in first person so you "feel like your in the role of the marine." says one of the screen writers.

I would, but I don't have my saves anymore (I got quite a bit farther than I said :|) because I downloaded It for pc. I may pick up final fantasy 2 for super nes though. Despite the simple battlesystem that game was fun. Unfortunetly the only place I've seen it locally was forty bucks :eek:

I know, a FF2 rom is where I found out that I like FF2. But I would like to play something like that on an actual console. for some reason it's just more enjoyable. Maybe because of the controller?

Yeah, that's true. I downloaded Chrono Trigger so I could play it when I'm at college, but it wasn't the same as busting out the old beast(which I'm surprised still works after a good 13 years) and playing that way.

It would be better if they released a CD set of Nobuo Uemastu's music for FFVII with it though. That guy is, like, my hero...he elevated video game music to an art form.

I dont know the names very well, im listening to them right now and they bring back such good warm memories. I have yet to play a game better than Final Fantasy 7. :)

FFVII by far has the best soundtrack in video game history. I can't think of anything else that comes close besides another game that Nobuo Uematsu made the soundtrack for like maybe FFVIII.

It's gonna be a success, although it might not be a good movie. FF7 fanboys are ... freaking crazy. God forbid you tell them that you think FF7 wasn't that great of a game.

Honestly, the FF7 movie could have large men in pokemon mascot suits dancing around to the tune of "The Safety Dance", and the movie would still do well.

But if it IS actually good, I'll see it.

Are you on crack? Final Fantasy 9 was one of the best Final fantasy games.
