View Full Version : Hows your Stock Barrel?
My Shutter stock barrel sucks. I was overall dissapointed with my gun because of the incredible unaccuracy of the stock. Hows yours or have you ever experienced a Shutter Stock barrel?

da shutters stock barrel to me is like...10x betta than da tippmann stock. my tippman stock barrel...da outside of da barrel is more smoother than the inside. thats pretty sad. at 20 feet.....it can barely hit a tree. (im exxagerating a lil bit) but its crappy as anything.

My gun comes stock with a sweet 12 inch "slapstick barrel". I think it is a CP barrel though because they look identical. It is super smooth and it's accurady blows away the modle 98's stock barrel accuracy. Me and my friend with a modle 98 had an accuracy contest and I whooped him.

My STS stock barrel is actually WICKED good. I love it, I don't think there is a rush for a new barrel. I won an accuracy contest against an Ice Cold barrel.

I wasn't too happy with my stock spyder shutter barrel but then again i didn't expect it to be very good. I used it for a little bit just to see how it worked but chopped alot of paint. PMI premium worked ok in the stock barrel compared to any other kind of paint. I have a J and J ceramic barrel now which was one of the first upgrades i got for the gun.

Listen... the two worst things about the shutter are the stock barrel and the stupid x chamber... replace those.. you have yourself one hell of a semi

Well, guns on the lower end of the spectrum come with barrels that are... well they're crappy. plain and simple. They do it to keep manufacturing costs down, and most companies know, that people replace the barrels off their blowbacks first chance they get. Look at higher end guns though, and they come with pretty good barrels. The infinity barrels on the angel, All American (I think) on the impulse and shocker (even if it isnt all american, it's smart parts, which is damn good), CP barrel on the matrix, J&J 2 piece for the intimidator, Javelin Barrel on the exaclibur. These are all really good barrels that with a good paoint match, wont need to be replaced. So not all stock barrels are bad, when you eventually upgrade you'll see that. As for my old spyders stock barrel... ugh it was bad

Pretty much any gun over $600 comes with a deceant barrel. Also Custom guns (i.e. Autocockers, Defiants, Intimidators well sorta, and tons of other ones) come with with a good barrel, it's just the lower quality, lower priced guns that are production made that have a not so good stock barrel.

What about my STS? It has an AWESOME stock barrel, but then again I've only been playing for 7 months.
my shocker came with an all american...it kicks a$$. elTwitcho...the impulse comes with a progressive which is almost exactly the same except it isn't 2 stage like the all american.

my stock barrel actually shoots decently. I put some Proteam Teflon Barrel treatment on it, and it really increased my accuracy. For those of you with stock barrels, i suggest doing it~

I think the stock barrel on my Model 98 Custom isn't that bad compared to what most people say. I like it for it being a stock barrel. I plan to get a new barrel in the future, but the stock will do fine for now. I guess it could be that I am not an expert or anything and I don't need an awesome barrel, but I like it, it's pretty good.

Is it the same stock barrel as the normal 98?

everyone complaining about there stock barrel.....get a 14-16 inch smart parts all american barrel. best upgrade ever for my tippmann. shoots straight as an arrow. but ive noticed as the day goes on, the balls start to lob because of air velocity drops. but im gettin a palmer stabilizer regulator soon, hoping to fix this problem.

I used to think the stock barrel on my STS sucked, until I found the right size paint to use. Then the accuracy improved ... if only it had been a little quieter.

for my spyder the key was good paint, it made a world of a difference, if yu find a bore that fits your gun your accuracy will improve but still save up for a good barrel. I ordered a lapco big shot BUT THE MACHINES ARE BROKEN! WHAT IS UP WITH THAT!

how many games u played w/ the barrel? sometimes it takes a few games to "break in" the gun. also sometimes it will have little bits of metal from the machining still in the barrel.

My STS G2 comes with a great stock barrell. Very accurate. I thought about upgrading it even though it's really good. I spoke with a paintball gun shop owner and he thought the STS comes with a great barrell already - so what's the point of upgrading it.

The stock barrel for the 98 isn't as bad as most people make it out to be. It is adequate, not the best stock barrel out there, but it gets the job done.

I think i have the worst stock barrel ever. the spyder se stock barrel is just so awful.. I wish it would have come with one so i would have bought my boomstick earlier, as not to waste so much paint on this POS!!!!!

a lot of companies put crappy barrels on the guns on purpose, Tippman said everybody replaces their m98 barrel so whats the point charging extra for something you'll upgrade in 3 days, thats why M98s and spyder compacts come with like 8 inch barrels, so it won't drive the price of the gun up and you can afford a good upgrade barrel. so most stock barrels suck on purpose.
