You can take a look at the WGP Stickies for info too.

All i know about them (i haven't been interested in them) is they are the most (correct me if i'm wrong) gas efficient. And there solenoid is in the front of the gun so it is more compact. Thats realy all i know about them (i need to take a look at them).

Cockers really aren't the most efficient guns, I know that at least Vikings and Excals are more effecient, but I don't know much about effeciency. Having the solenoid in the front (only on E-Cockers obviously) doesn't help much as far as size since the boards are so big compared to something like a Timmy board.

well what is so good about them??
and wat is a good cheap one?

They are VERY upgradeable. The most upgradeable marker in fact. I like how they shoot, it just feels nice to me. A good cheap one would be a 2k3 Vert Cocker from paintballgateway.com for about $235. I wouldn't trust the new Trilogy series yet though.

quiet u!!

the efficiency of cockers is on par with most any other gun out there...just those few shining exceptions like the vike/excal (but then again, one of their major selling points is their efficiency), or a trix with an evolve bolt (close to or over 2000 per 68/4500!!). i get around 300-400 shots per 1000psi with my 68/4500.

the 'noid up front isnt a problem...i mean, its sure as hell a lot better than having just a mech 3-way, and it looks pretty tite, imo...:P

and who cares about the board size? its in the frame, so it doesnt really matter...

haha...yea.

cockers are nice...

They're a little sluggish for my tastes, the backblock and all those moving parts, and the fact to have a fast cocker, you need lighter parts, its not my thing.

don't get a cocker unless you plan on upgrading/customizing.

Kingman27
09-14-2004, 06:05 AM
yeah, maybe a stock 2k3 vf you get for $250 would be sluggish..but that doesnt mean they all would be..its all about DIFFERENT PARTS! theres tons of different parts for cockers...ever shot some sort of the new nexus cocker? they're no where near sluggish..nor is any cocker with just a few of the main upgrades..

your probly just a moron who knows nothing about cockers and has them poorly set up so they shoot like ****

ive shot cockers tuned so bad I would of rather been shooting a spyder...its the PERSON, not the gun..(as people say about playing :P)
like with an omen, they can rip if you set it up right..
cockers are great to if you spend 15 mins to tune it..

 :eyes:

wow. kingman owned radishboy. today is a day to remember. 2k2 was the last year to put sliders on cockers stock, but halfway through the year wgp started giving out both sliders and hinge frames. of course, people opted for the metal hinge versus the plastic slider, and so the slider pretty much became extinct.

i'm tottaly aware that '02's were the last to have hinge frames...

...what i wasn't aware of, is that beaver had an '04. a common yet fatal mistake. that's what happens when you post half asleep in the school library.

regardless, i accept my defeat. kingman, i've underestimated you ever since...well actually i always have. but you caught me off gaurd. i bow to you now.

I get 760 shots off of a 47ci 2500psi fill. Yes, 2500psi.

Not efficient? Bah humbug, I say.

The Karnivore can cycle in the upper 20's / low 30's, right? I don't know about you, but that's more than good enough for me. And my peak (without bounce) is ~17 BPS.
Now, for a lower-end 'Cocker, ROF might be a problem with the stock parts. I dunno, really.

Blow-back? On a 'Cocker? Psh. Only if you can't time one worth crap.
I've been experimenting with my friend's 'Cocker, and even I have achieved suction on it. Then again, I have achieved suction on my Spyder, so...that's kinda a moot point, though.

And yes, 'Cockers are very effecient. Not to mention they look cool as hell. :)

sure e-cockers can keep up with electros in speed, but when you look at the operating method, the e-cocker is inferior due to how impractical the design is compared to the comon sacked tube electro.

it's correction, not criticism. you wouldn't want a bunch of false info, would you? if you want to be told what you want to hear, then i can say that cockers are far more accurate and have much greater range than any other marker because of their closed bolt design. or, i can tell you the truth, that cockers don't have anything over any other high end marker besides the insane amount of aftermarket parts and milling designs available for them. aside, of course, from the aspects that are better/worse based on the individual. and they're called autocockers because they were originally pump guns, modified to automatically cock themselves. hence, autococker. satisfied?

cockers came out waaay before any electros came out...in fact, they came out before anyone had likely even thought of associating electronics in paintball aside from the hopper.

impractical, maybe, but keep in mind that they were designed close to 15 years ago...and the fact that they're still a very popular marker as of now...yea.

and who cares if its "impractical"? if it works, and works well, why change it?

oh yea...and does anyone know the actual physical cycle cap of WGP's stock rams? and STO? and nexus? and whatever other popular ram? and with QEVs?

ive heard numbers varying enough to...yea.

Chronos are wrong a lot of the time, between battery power and just plain inaccuracy, i think its they measure the time in between balls going over the chrono and average it out to how many it would be in a second.
Sound clip would be more accurate.

actually, its not crazy..at all..it is very believable, and i doubt doubt that beaverbuddy did that one bit..

i can fan like 11..or at least i did with my wgp hinge, its good for fanning..my eclipse hinge is just got for secks i mean pulling regularly :D

4 seconds is a VERY long time. You really shoot 44 times?

thing is...my cocker isnt suction timed...i think it has a little bit of blowback, and we all know that hte feed rate of agitated hoppers(especially revvies) get inconsistant after a while...

so my guess is i was shooting at at least 8-9...but im gonna hold myself high and say i shot at 11...:D

ill try correcting u...instead of just saying "nope..." like everyone else...even tho i probably should just say that...

sliders can be as fast as a hinge, but it depends on the person...and what they prefer. a good hinge frame properly adjusted (with the cocker timed right and all), and a slider done the same, they'll be the same...u can get both pulls down to essentially the same thing.

so...hinge frames are NOT slower.

8bps is fast for any mech gun (that u cant walk). that's enough to make ur agitated loader burp if u keep that speed up for a long time.

16bps is hard for ppl to pull on electros walking, much less pulling with one finger...the fastest ive EVER pulled with one finger was 11, and that was on the mouse game...

the chrono was lying to u.

in fact, the fastest ive ever heard of with a single trigger frame was on a heavily modded em1 where the guy hit around 13bps with heavy bounce.
