i think there are some problems in paintball that people think that autococker and mags are what makes players good i mean i was playing to day and some newbies not nailed by some guy with a tricked cocker they thought it was his gun that made him good its funny because me with my m98 nailed him right after he got them but did they thing i was a good player no because they go to the field to see ok he has the best gun hes the best its funny because the autococker guy was a newbie he didnt know how to time his freeflow cocker or what paint to barrel match was he thought all paintballs were exactly .68 caliber i told hiw they wernt and he laughed at me he seriouly laughed in my face now it pisses me off there are kids who dont know jack all about paintball get idolized because they put way more money then most into gear i think that if gear was what made you good then boblong would not have helped his team win the world cup with a spyder and how could i have hit the guy with the cocker and the guy with the mag and the guy with the shocker it just doesnt seem right

Holy freakin crap that was all one sentence

I dunno, as someone who once used a spyder to someone who uses a gun that'll stack 14 balls per second right on top of each other, I can say that no gun will make someone a good player, but equipment certainly makes a difference. Skills is still more important, but equipment is a big part

Skill is most important, but equipment provides the edge. Sometimes the edge puts you over someone a little better, sometimes not. But hey, take all you can get.

Who thinks people with mags are good players  J/K guys!

Yes I agree...skill is the most important...but your gear counts for something....it's more of how you interact with your gear then the gear it self. There are some people I have seen that can rip the **** out of a spyder (especially with light springs and a short pull). I know I can shoot my spyder pretty dam fast...and with nitro it is very very consistant.

YEP gear does help but most people like to have good *** guns cause of the performance and to be respected (at first till u see they r a newbie). cause if u see a newbie but u dont know it yet with a phat *** jersey, and pods and ****. A ricochet hopper with a tricked out cocker with a custom andonizing job with a kapp drop, and its running on a angel nitro tank. then u see a bob long (but u dont know it hes in disquise) with a spyder compact that has a totaly messed up paintjob on co2 and no drop with a one of those 30 ball hoppers from brass eagle ans is wearin a white tshirt and some route 66 pants. who r u goin to pick?????? in paintball the first game or two its all bout how u look and what u got. but thats how this sport is its all bout cosmetics as well as any other sport we r just gonna have to make live with r mistakes and remember its only a game

your skill is what matters if you really suck. if you are the worst pball player and have a timmy you are still going to lose. if you are really good, what gun you have won't have much influence over how good you play. for example my friend with a stingray that had a broke cocking knob still beat another one of my friends who had a tippmann.
