bought TES on ebay, got a question

i just bought a TES on ebay - came with a 14" teardrop, 20oz CO2 tank, case, and EVO 2 hopper for $168 plus shipping - but the auction said it leaks from the big screw in the reg for about 30 seconds when first gassed up, then is fine. i figured it was nothing that couldnt be easily fixed, so i bought it anyway. it still isnt here yet, but i am wondering what the problem could be. i have heard that these guns are notorious for leaking, but easily fixed with teflon tape or new o-rings or something.

i think the problem is probably an o-ring, it sounds like it is too hard to seal but once it gets up to pressure it is fine (i am a total n00b for the most part as to how these guns work, this is my first paintball gun so try not to be too hard on me)

does that sound like it could be the problem or am i just completely retarded? or somewhere in the middle?

Depends on what "big screw" he is talking about. Might be adjustment screw or where the macro line screws in, either way it should be fixed by some teflon.

the auction said it was the bigger of the 2 hex screws on the reg - here is the auction

there is an exhaust hole in the reg. umm kinda near the top, it will leak out this hole for a split second or 2 when u gass the marker up. this is what he prob ment and didn't know what the hole was for

i don't think theres a prob with ur reg. if it was leaking so bad that it needs to be fixed u would hear the leak all time. it wouldn't just leak for 30seconds

ok thanks thats hopefully all it is... i will let you know once i get the gun and gas it up

wow - got an email from the guy today - saying he got the money order and will be sending out the gun on monday. he said he hates sending out things that have problems, so he was going to go out and buy me a new reg to put on it! i emailed him back just a minute ago saying he didnt have to since the auction clearly said it has a leak, but he said he was going to buy it today so he probably already got it. there really need to be more people like this out there instead of all the bad people who take your money and never talk to you again...

yah thats pretty nice of him, most people wouldnt do something like that...in fact my cousin sold his shocker and sent it to the guy b4 he got the check, and when he cashed it in the guy had closed his account....luckily the post office people were able to intercept it and get it back to my cuz. anyways your lucky he's gettin you a new reg, regardless of what kind of reg it is. :cool:
