which should i get? i think a CMI 16" for like $21 bux is a good starter barrel for my gun, and hello all, im new to the forums

Just spend the extra 10 dollars to buy the progressive. You'll be happy that you did so.

Dan is right, but if you are willing to spend a little more money a CP 1 Piece is even better, it costs around $45.

No...the Teardrop is $50, the Progressive is $40. SAVE $10 and get a Progressive. It is the exact same barrel as the Teardrop except that it doesn't have the extra milling around the porting.
Or, for some excellent customer service get a CP 1 piece. It will work out just as well as a Smart Parts barrel and maybe even better.

He was talking about the CMI barrel for 21 dollars. I meant for an extra 10 buy the progressive. Most sites I've seen have had them for 35 dollars.
