I don't like the Shutter, it's nothing good at all. Sure it has all the nice little upgrades, but they aren't good. I would rather have a STS. It works a lot better and only cost 145.

I have to disagree with you........My shutter kick's A**....
and you can't just say an STS is a lot better......you eill need to tell us why it is better....

I hate when people trash markers they probably never even held...let alone shot.....

I have a Shutter. I loe it myslef!! Its a beast. Fav. Gun. I dissagree muchly with an STS being better. The barrel on the shutter is terrible. After a newbarrel and maybe a new expansion chamber. Shuttters will rule all. But I believe that Shutter are todays modern gun. They are it.

I love spyders but I hate shutters.

Here is why:

A shutter itself does not perform bad or anything like that. It is that kingman charges a lot more for a gun that is not better than a standard spyder, just with some cosmetic additions and some parts that serve no function and just make it look "Cool"

The first problem is that they put the reg before the x-chamber. That in itself makes the reg serve no function extcept for the little gauge. Then there is the fact that the x-chamber is just a little one stage chamber. All it does is all more gas to sit there, deregulate and then they can trick people into thinking that their gun has an expantion chamber.
I find all of that and rediculus and just tricks newbies and those not quite experienced enough to realize that they are not getting a high end or "tournament" gun.

Hey ptflyer, I hate to burst your bubble, but Witt is one of my best friends. I am with him all the time, I paintball with the guy. I have shot/held a Shutter.

By the way, this is Joel Timberlake at Witt's house.

aside from the reg situation.....which can also be argued that any chamber after a regualtor...being an ex-chamber....or even a LPC....will allow CO2 to expand and thus change the actual pressure....the shutter is really no different than any other spyder (they all just come with different set ups but are basicly the same gun)....and as with any other spyder....it can be upgraded to your hearts content....with that said....other than it costing more....there is no difference in performance....so to say you "hate " the shutter....you ae in fact saying you hate all spyders....(take a TL add the kingman reg and x chamber and you have a shutter without the blue or red ano)

You oviousely did not read my post.
I like all spyders except the shutter.
I said I hate the shutter for the fact that it has those pointless features that make it cost more than neccisary while you would get the same performance out of a regular spyder. Not for the performance of the gun itself.

And no a LPC will not deregulate the gas.

I have a spyder shutter. It was actually my first gun. I think it's a great gun as far as performance and maintenance is concerned... I haven't had any problems w/ cleaning/oiling; and the times I've been out at a field, the accuracy and dependability have been great. I should mention that I upgraded the barrel.

I understand what everyone is saying about price (although I got mine off of ebay for a respectable amount). But one thing to consider is that some people don't have the knowledge or wherewithal to upgrade their gun.

I've shot other basic starter guns, and I prefer the upgrades (rear-cocking, beavertail, foregrip, etc.). However, when I first started, I was more excited to start playing than work on my gun.... Things change, however, and I wouldn't mind making upgrades now that I know more about the sport. But I don't regret buying my gun.
