Rat "body only" FAQ

I am getting a lot of PMs and questions regarding the Rat body kits for sale. To save a bunch of different threads, these should answer some of your questions:

What colors can I get?—these are NOT anodized. The bodies come “ready to anodize- which means bare alum

Are they the “RJR or “03” body? – these are the newer ’03 body style (more milled off, lighter)

Can I use the VFF? --- YES- these are drilled for the VFF (vertical full flow)

Are these covered by the Rat lifetime warranty? NO- we cannot give you a warranty on a marker we don’t build.

Do I have to have a “team” to get the lower “team” pricing? We created the lower “team” price to try to help teams that want to use our bodies as a basis for their custom markers. However, there is no “team sponsorship agreement” or team documentation required. I guess that’s sorta a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

Can I get a deal on other stuff if I buy it with the body? YES! 100% we will work with you to give you the best possible “total package” we can! This is something that should be handled on the phone- not thru posts.

I want to build my own version of a “Custom Rat”, it that OK? YES! The only issue is Warranty. Make sure you are very clear that you are building the marker, and therefore any issues will be handled by you.

Is this a “limited special”? For right now, “yes” Smart Parts has agreed to try this out with just 20 bodies. Assuming they don’t have issues with players building their own guns and then wanting Smart Parts to repair them under warranty, they will allow us to sell more.

I would suggest you call the store (810) 245-1914 if you have questions rather then posting them on the forums. Of course if you are planning on building your own custom based on one of these bodies, I sure we would all like to hear about your plans and progress.

No- we will not be milling stock bodies. the rat bodies start with a an un-milled block, so some of what you see in rat milling would not be there in a stock body- and ofcourse, stock bodies are not drilled for the VFF.

We are not planing to offer ano at this time-- mostly because the only way to make a custom gun look great is to have all the parts anoded at the same time and if we ano the guns, you would have to pay extra to strip the bodies before you can get the new ano job

Yes, we could build a totaly custom gun, assemblied from parts. This is time consuming and we would only do it if we got payment up front. we have build way too many guns for people, only to have them refuse the marker when it took "too long"

We have been contacted by a couple of people that you all know from the fourms, that have experssed interest in building custome, one off, super Impulses for customers. While nothing is final yet, you might think about your pet that is your best freind needed his teeth cleaned.

Orginaly we thougnt most of the customers for these would be players that have buit up custome guns and how have a bunch of extra parts- basicly, everything but a body. Well we are getting a lot more requests from players that want to build a marker from the ground up. To help there, we are making a list of the "take off" parts we have that we will sell at very much reduced prices to try to help this along. We do have stock ram housing as well as stock shafts (SS) and both brass and alum hammers. we have cricket boards and sdt vertical adapters. THe only item we have had a number of calles for is solenoid trays. these have the marker's serial number on them, so SP is not too quick to give these out (we normaly send a damaged one it to exchange it) I'm going to see if Dave (New Designz) would be willing to make up a small batch of trays for us (unanodized) and maybe some OTB frames if Josh will ever call me back (JOSH_ CALL ME!)

Yes- we would be willing to assemble a marker from your parts (or transfer your parts to a new body) this is something best handled over the phone

Yes we will sell you an equalizer board with the body. In fact we will even give you a bit better deal on the body when you buy it with an equalizer just because we realy want these custome guns to rip- and the equalizer is the best board you can get for the Impulse.

$150 for a single body. They are not anodized, however.

are you willing to drill wholes for eyes on both sides? will you take resonsiblity if you mess up the wholes? i ask this because i have a stock bodied impy with a pandora board and beem break. so would you drill dual eye wholes in the rat body for me?

if you feel like sending me the board and your gun sure...and buy two eyes that would be on a timmy....if you really want me to put a morlock or some other board into your impy send me a pm or talk to me on AIM. my sn is sok845 and if you send me your gun and the parts i will do the labor and ship it back to you for a very very small fee...i have no intetion on doing this for much of a profit im just helping fellow ballers rip...

yes yes yes soldering is fun but when your trying to take a board that is made to fit into a grip frame and put it in a gun that uses a board tray...well then it can become not so fun...


anywho...were way off topic and we don't need to be talking about this on this thread....
