ok, my imp's not working. I bought it off a guy and he said it needed a new noid. So I put in a battery and it won't turn on. So I kinda feel it does need a new solenoid. The noid's wires are all messed up. So being the noob to imps like I am I'm asking you guys for help. What do you think I should do? Any body wanna help me trouble-shoot?

okay, are the solenoid's wires going to the circuit board stripped, pinched, or cut? when you turn the gun on, does the light on the back of it blink, or does it not blink?

The wires are stripped on one part, and the other part is taped up.
The gun won't even blink.

well, before you spend the big bucks to buy a new solenoid, try adjusting the trigger. do you know how to adjust the trigger's micro activation screw?

I'm clueless when it comes to imp's man. I always wanted one but never planned on having one for a while then this dude told me he was selling his for 50 bucks, so I bought it.
I'm gonna go read the manual I downloaded from SP so I'll let you dudes know tomorrow!!

if u got it for $50... he probably like stole it or something but anyways.... do what TPD said but I doubt that you can get away with just adjusting your trigger. A new noid cost around $70-80

here is how to adjust your trigger

take your gun apart...

before you put the gun back together (oh yeh, this way is also safer when you put your gun back together, there is less chance of the micro switch lever getting bent or broken) find the micro switch activation srew (it goes at a slight angle up into the trigger and you can see it come out the top of the trigger). unscrew it until it is flush with the top of the trigger. then put the gun back together.

now, set how long you want the pull to be, and it sould be no less than 2mm, although you probably can get away with a length of 1mm or 1.5mm. find the post travel screw, located on the flat blade part of the trigger, and screw it in until the trigger pull is how long you want it to be.

turn the gun on and make sure to watch to see if the blue led on the back of the gun is blinking normally throughout the adjustment proccess. find that micro switch activation and, while holding down the trigger, screw it in slowely until you hear a faint "click" (which will be the solenoid trying to fire the gun, oh yes, make sure the gun isn't gassed up right now) and see the light on the back of the gun stop blinking. then let go of the trigger. then screw the micro switch activation screw in one more 1/8 of a turn of the allen wrench.

>if the light on the back on the impulse starts flashnig like normal, pull the trigger a couple more times.

>if everything is okay, you're done.
>if once you pulled the trigger again, and the shot doesnt' registery, (meaning the light on the back of the gun doesn't blink like when you normally shoot the gun) then screw the micro switch activation screw in another 1/8 of a turn. repeat until the shots register
>if once you pull the trigger some more, the light on the back of the gun stops flashing totally, then unscrew the post travel screw 1/8 of a turn, repeat as nessisary.

>if the light on the back of the impulse doesn't flash once you pull the trigger at all, then unscrew the post travel screw 1/8 of a turn, repeat as nessisary. then pull the trigger a couple more times.

>if everything is okay, you're done.
>if once you pulled the trigger again, and the shot doesnt' registery, (meaning the light on the back of the gun doesn't blink like when you normally shoot the gun) then screw the micro switch activation screw in another 1/8 of a turn. repeat until the shots register
>if once you pull the trigger some more, the light on the back of the gun stops flashing totally, then unscrew the post travel screw 1/8 of a turn, repeat as nessisary.

>if the light on the impulse doesn't register any shots when you pull the trigger, (meaning the light on the back of the gun doesn't blink like when you normally shoot the gun) then screw the micro switch activation screw in another 1/8 of a turn. repeat until the shots register. pull the trigger a couple more times.

if that doesn't work, you need a new solenoid

the micro-switch activation screw in the trigger? what kind of trigger do you have?

Check to see that the button on the outside of the solenoid tray is depressing the little button on the board. You can take your trigger and tray off the body and check this. If you have a fresh battery in, and you hear a slight click when you push down the on/off button, it should be working. Also, make sure you hold the button down for about 3-4 seconds, you should hear a chirp. Hold down the button until you hear a chirp (about 4 seconds), if this doesn't happen, post again.

re-install your circuit board, so that the on/off button on the back alines with the on/off button in the solenoid tray.
