i searched and could not find if it is bad to shoot an impulse upside down to maybe clear paint out of the barrel or something. Will this hurt it or not? Sorry for the dumb question, but i don't want to do something that is going to hurt my gun. thanks.

You might be able to shoot like 1 ball(maybe more) if you had a halo and the halo was pushing the paint down so the paint wouldnt be able to go back into the halo.

ok thanks guys i break paint in my barrel somethimes and figured if i could tip it upside down and shoot a couple it might clean out the barrel and not make balls swerve, but i didn't know if it was bad for the gun.

With a warp feed you could. Its not really bad for the gun, its just pointless and it will leave you with a big clean-up job.

Shooting upside down wont clean ur barrel if u choped, try getting a squeegie or something to clean it if you do.I always keep one in my empire pants when i play, even though i dont need it.;)

yeah i carry a battle swab i just thought shooting upside down might help because the battle swab pushes the paint into my bolt so i don't like to use it.

'I dont really see how alot of paint would get into you r bolt because there will be a paintball right infront of it.
yes, a gun is a machine. it doesnt care what way u shoot it. but however the paint does care. with a regular hopper, thats a huge no no. with a halo you should be good. with a Q- laoder or a warp feed there will be no perfomance difference whatsoever. and dont dry fire ur gun to clear out paint....cause that means u gotta take ur hopper off. that takes to long. get a battel swab. stick it in, pull it out, ur done.

it isn't that good for your impulse to shoot it with/out paint because if it doesn't have any paint restricting the air flowing completely out of the valve cavity (i.e. a pb in the barrel), your bolt could get stuck forward because the solenoid doesn't have enough pressure to recock it. just buy a tapeworm-although this isn't a problem for all impulses, it is always better to play it safe, spend the 20$, and buy a tapeworm-besides, they will increase your efficiency and your bps rate too.

yeah i know dry firing is not good, but is it better if i turn the pressure down if i want to dry fire?

I (make sure there no paint in it first) dry fire my 3 Imps with my hand snug over the end of the barrel. This provides enough back pressure for re-cocking and no damage.

for dry firing the pressure doesn't really make a diff, but it anything, higher is better...

I use my barrel condom, it keeps enough pressure for it to recock, but then again I also have an LPR, so dunno.

hmmm...i dry fire my imp all the time without covering the barrel or anything

well you just have the 1/100 impulse that lets you do that... ;)

maybe it is 1/100 ;)

i also can dry fire without recocking problems i was just wondering if the higher pressure was harder on the gun while dry firing.

no, not really, it is better to dry fire with a towel/barrel plug over the barrel unless you have a vff/hfv/hfa/dff or an lpr setup or a tapeworm/gp valve no matter what the pressure is though... but you already new that ;)

okay thanks when i dry fire i'll start putting a towel over the front of the barrel.
i dont get it, is 15 bucks to expensive for a tapeworm that fixes al lof these problems????
