View Full Version : Bad 98 Valve?

I've owned this 98c for about 8 months (bought it new / stock parts), and just took the valve out for the first time. It looks like it could be bad, but maybe they all come that way.

looks like the valve hole is stripped... maybe you are getting inconsistent pressures causeing the fluctuations in the fps?

It looks like they (or a machine) at the factory just jams the gas line in and it tore the lip of the hole and / or the first thread.
If other people's look like this, then I'm not too worried about it. But if its bad I should want to request a new one before the year warranty is up.
Also, any ideas on the white crud that was on the threads? Sealant glue? Is it bad that it got on some of the internals?

white crud? probably some form of loctite... if i can get a hold of my cam, ill take a pic for you.
