So when Iclick on windows media player to open it, it says "an internal application error has occured." I have no idea what this means or how to fix it, and it is mildly annoying when I want to listen to all the songs I saved to it.
Any help would be much appreciated, tankee!

Reinstall WMP. The upgrade to WMP 10. WMP and Winamp should be the only two media players you'll ever need.

If you are using realplayer, shoot yourself in the head.

Media player isn't working thanks to spyware (this is where the porn comes in).

You probably ran Ad-Aware, and uninstalled one of the programs that imbeds itself into a list that the Media Player's checks before it starts up. Since the program is gone, it won't start.

Uninstall Media Player (use the control panel), then run Ad-Aware and Spybot. Then download and install the latest version of Media Player.
