again... i really don't mean to insult u, but going off all the posts u made and stuff, u really sound lost, confused and that u just wanna spend ur money on something...u gotta settle on WHAT u want first. i think at first u said ur getting an A-5 for christmas (if u are, don't buy any upgrades until u get that A-5 in ur hands and have actually played with it a couple times...i have told u that a couple threads ago) then ur thinking about getting a cocker, then maybe a spyder, now back to an A-5 (which i believe u don't have "yet"?) and ur talking about purchasing an RT or an e-grip and everything...really, SLOWWWWW DOWN!
first take into account:
1.)Am i really getting a Tippmann A-5 for Christmas?
2.)If not, am i getting a different marker or a marker at all?
3.)If you are, wait till you get that marker in your hands (yeah sorry, gotta wait a couple months, but sure as hell beats buying something that u later regret purchasing) and then buy upgrades...
4.)If not, then analyze, research, study, idc but narrow down to what marker YOU would like to purchase, post (and don't be jumping around, when u post again, we want a solid answer) and then we'll tell u what to do from there...
these are YOUR steps to success, so do them and we'll help you on the way if needed...
p.s. it seems like when someone comes and tells u to go in a different direction you are already going, u cancel what u doing now and take that direction... like several posts ago u said "o i'm getting an A-5" and right away someone said "no don't get an A-5, get a cocker" and u were like "fine ok, what cocker man!?"...don't just automatically do what ppl tell u to do, it's ur money, it's ur marker, it's what YOU want. Yes take ppls opinions about different things and what not but in the end, it's what you want, not what other posters what you to get....

To sum up what he said try any marker first before you buy them.

IMO, I wouldn't get an E-grip or RT...I would get a different marker.

If u want a tourny legal gun get Egrip, but it still wouldnt really be a good tourny gun anyway, if u are really serious about tournaments get a timmy and if ur not willing to spend that much go for an imp with WAS board.
if ur not a tourny player get response becuase u can use full auto, 3 burst, 6 bust and semi auto depending upon how long u bounce the response for. once u learn how to sweet spot the response u can get up to 16 bps and u can hold it for as long as u want to
note: the response trigger doesnt actually make ur gun full auto, 3 burst or 6 burst just by flipping a switch. u have to find the right trigger bounce on the response then u can hold it down for any burst u want or full auto. response trigger also makes ur trigger come back so u no longer need ur trigger spring. it also makes ur trigger come back quicker than the spring does so u can shoot faster semi auto than u normally would be able to with the spring

just save some money and go RT, i like it better, and unless you really gey hardcore serious, most local tourneys wont care. Just get the RT thats my oppinion, if you get E-grip, you have to pay like twice asmich for the actuall egrip, then you have to get AIR, or else itll get all ****ed up like my old piranha, the soloniod froze.

How do you freeze a noid on an egrip? Co2 doesn't even contact it. Ebolt perhaps?

would you put C02 on a Timmy or on a DM3.....NO! because you knkow itll F it up.....its basically the same thing, im not quite sure how it works, but C02 can freez all the internals, includint the niod, and F things up. so either spend like 60 and get RT or spend like 350 or so and get E-frame and air....

OK thanks Yeah im kinda confused, but i think im just gonna see how i like the a5 and buy upgrades or another gun. I guess it depends. I've been playing paintball 4 a couple years, but this is the first gun i've decided to buy. (or ask for)

first of all, for all these people sayin they'd get a different marker (Timmy, etc.) Screw that. Guys, a lot of us cant put forth 1,000 bucks on a paintball gun. Anyways, I have response and its great. I love it because not only does it increase rate of fire, but also trigger sensetivity. You can also turn it off pretty easliy and its very adjustable. I hear that E-Grips dont work well in humid weather nor do they work well with double triggers. It depends if you JUST play rec-ball. If you do tourneys, go with the E-grip. I do tourneys but when I do em I use my autococker. My A-5 is just so much fun for Rec.

But, if he ever moves into the tourney scene, he'll have to ditch the RT or get a new marker.

no offence, but Tippmanns arent the best guns for tournys, if i was gonna be in a tourny id use a spyder over a tippy anyday! Tippys are for like woodsball or senerio, not speedball
