I was thinking about buying a PMI Piranha G3 STS or a Tippman Custome 98, I have seen some great reviews on both the guns. Its about 200 Canadian and Tippman is about 140, Canadian. I want your opinion on which gun to choose out of the two. I have also heard alot of people talking about the CORE the Sharc, but alittle more than 200.
If I chosse the Tippman what should I upgrade, and which gun converes more CO2, because I am not even sure how many times a gun can be fired before running out.
Thx, in advance

Be prepared to get a lot of varying opinions on this topic. But I'll tell you what I reccomend. Both of those markers are pretty good, but I would go with the Piranha. My reasoning behind this is that Piranhas take Spyder upgrades, which means you could upgrade 'til the end of the world and you still could upgrade more. The Piranha is alot more compact than the Tippmann. The Piranha is at least good looking, Tippmanns look (in my opinion) *** ramming ugly.
But the Tippmann has it's good stuff also. It's quite upgradeable as well, but not as much as the Piranha. The trigger pull is short and sweet, one of the nicest I've ever pulled.
But if you are looking for a marker that will conserve CO2, then definitely get the Piranha. Tippmanns are notorious gas hogs.
Hope this helps. Good luck with whatever you choose.
BTW, one of my friends has a Tippmann and another has a Piranha, so I'm not just pulling facts out of my ***. I've shot both, and still prefer the Piranha.

I have a G2 STS and it works great. I highly recommend it.

Go read my sticky thred at the top called "So, you want to buy a gun". Spyders and Pirhanas are about identical so you should be able to learn everything about the Piranha vs Tippmann there.

I have had a model 98 custom for a year and I'm very plesed (even though my new cocker is better). It is very easy to maintain, great upgrades widely available, waranty is great, and more durable than A-10 wart hog!!!!!!!! Only problem I had was a bad valve. (cost me about $10 to replace). I consider a model 98 a low-end gun, with high performance, that can be upgraded into a mid-high end gun very I MEAN VERY easily. Go with the T98 custom and a 20oz co2 tank.

You should upgrade the barrel first on any gun. I suggest ACI Zero-Gravity barrels and CP barrels. they are about $50 each and have great performance. If you get the M98c, upgrades to look at staight off are dbl trigger and drop forward if you get a 20 oz tank, both of those cost $20-$25 a piece. Piranhas have less shelf time and you will grow tired of a gun like that really easily.
