The X-board is the EXACT same board as the stock Revolution 12v board, with a change to the code of their computer. This board watches balls fall, and if more than one ball falls within a certain period of time, the hopper motor is kept running. If more than one is not found after a period of time, the motor is shut off. When you are out of paint, the motor runs constantly. When the batteries are low, the red LED flashes, with no way of disabling it (a night game no-no).

The TurboRev board uses a completely different concept... It watches the time between balls, and adjust the motor speed and/or torque to accelerate the stack downward with the cycling of the bolt in your marker. The unit is programmable so that you can disable the LED (which is a dual color red/green) for night games. The LED blinks every 2 seconds to let you know the unit is on, and flashes red when the batteries are low. When you are out of paint, the LED alternately flashes red then green. It has an auto shutoff feature for those that forget to turn off their hopper, and it plays music when you first turn it on. :)

The reason that Jim Drew designed this board in the first place was the auto shutoff of the motor when you are out of paint. How many times do you hear someone's hopper running constantly, and you KNOW they are out of paint!?!?
