Powdercoating would be a cheaper option.

you can't paint it. you need to send it out. however, first you need to grind off your old color. so get a good grindwheel with a good grinder and grind off the old color, then send the gun out.

not... they have a special solution you dip your reciever in to strip off all the ano, and btw, the anodizer you are sending it to, should do this for you.

Yup, it's part of the anodizing process.
We dip the pieces in a solution that takes off the old oxidation layer (anodizing color) then remove the "smut" that is left on the pieces. After that, beadblast it, then put it into the acid and run the current through it to get the aluminum to hold the dye. After that, you dip the parts in the dye color you want, measure the exposure time for the color you want, and poof, seal it and reassemble.

but the best way to paint your gun would be putting the paint on your marker, then letting it dry; it is a time tested process, all the pros do it that way.
