I currently have a fully upped Spyder, but am looking for something nicer now that I have played the sport a lot.
I was thinking an Impulse or Angel, but only have 300-400 (aiming for used obviously), but don't know exactly what to get (what year, upgrades, etc), I dont want to do any more ups to any guns, just have the ups I need for a decent gun I can keep awhile. I have already looked around a lot at the stuff being sold and there are a lot of options.
what do you guys think? I really need some views here :D

Sickey.
B2K4 with PDS. no question about it but it is alittle more than what you have.

Hold onto the Spyder 'till you get $1000. Buy a high end Angel. Done.

For $400? I guess they really have gone down in value. But I certainly wouldn't recommend one unless you know LOTS about how they work.

Get an Angel LCD or a Matrix LED.

Hmm, a lot of different opinions, this won't be easy  I know it's all in what I like, but I was hoping I'd get some kind of majority opinion ..
Complexity of the marker doesn't really bother me as I would take the time to clean and figure it out myself.
I just want a reliable gun that will do its job consistantly and well :)

Angel LCD?

LED Matrix fits your requirements exactly, requires hardly any maintenance and isn't too complex, all while being one of the fastest and most accurate guns you can buy. I've seen a few go used for around $450.

u can get ebladed e-orracles and mini e-orracles for around $650...
ur average stock-bodied e-cocker will sell for around $500.
mechs will never sell above $350-400 to a decently educated buyer.
and u dont need to know LOTS about how they work...
u actually dont even need to know how to time it...its not hard to learn how to time it...it just takes practice to time it well.

Sell your spyder, then work until you get enough money to buy an 05 speed.

Well thing is, I'm in college and don't have a job.. Only get jobs during the summer. I looked into the Angel LCDs and the only ones in my range are the 2k1's, and they kinda have a dated style :|
I'm leaning toward vision imps at this point ;)

well yea but i would necesarily (sp) do it in that order. Save up till you have alot of money, and then sell ur spyder after, and buy something nice, like a 05 angel, timmy, trix whatever.

trust me...dont hit low...get something really good, and trust me...it'll have ALL been worth it.
besides...spyders arent all that bad, right? :P

Stay away from imps... please...
Used angels like 2k1 and 2k2's can be found on pbnation for easily under 500, around teh 400 mark. They are faily nice markers, but my only problem is the lack of eye system.
If anything, wait untill summer and get teh money, for 400 ur not going to get much... I'd saw save and get an... ummm... maybe a used trix... one with eyes though... Your choice really, just save up and try out different markers to get the idea of what you like/dislike and go from there.

B2K get it with out pds for $400 than add pds later when you have more money.
Upped b2k matches most high end markers in performance.

Well I'm not gonna sell my Spyder for a quick 150-200 bucks at any rate, I can keep it as a back up gun.
What the hell is wrong with imps? I also like the eyes, which is why I was looking at the VISION imps. I have looked plenty at the Angel LCDs and I just can't bring myself to like them. Some of the Matrix's are high priced.
Right now I've found a deal for a vision imp, cricket board, torp reg, ND bolt, micro rock LPR, clamping neck, freak back with an insert, blade trig, and a cp front cap for around 375.
In my book it sounds like a good deal...
Also, I've been looking into the T1's :D Don't laugh :P

for under 400 you can fine a was'd imp with ups probly. Or one that has a lot of ups, imps are pretty much crap imo and have a crap resale.
iamcool
10-23-2004, 03:10 PM
Yeah but why are they considered crap?
Ghost2867
10-23-2004, 03:15 PM
'cause bushies are the same thing, and they're better.
actually, that's more of can'tthinkof1's opinion...personally, i have nothing against imps, but seriously...between an imp and a bushy, get the bushy.
between an imp and a "higher-end" gun, get the "higher-end" gun.

Actually I don't like bushy's or imps, both have bad tolerances. Only untill the Freestyle do I think that ICD has improved the tolerances.
If my opinion matters at all, get a trix. Or another possibility to throw up are Tribals.

buy a ule custom straight from agd. they come stacked with good stuff. plus they are durable and just all around good guns. they cost 340 if you don't want different triggers or bodies put on.

I found a 2k3 LED Matrix and a 2k2 Classic Intimidator both for around 500, the tim is like fully upped, matrix has some ups on it. Which to get? I hear the classics are very heavy?

Trix is pretty heavy and i am not sure about the timmy.
BUt i still think you should go with a b2k it is about the best marker you can get for $400.
And imps are garbage.

2k2 Classic WTF? I think you mean just a classic...
I'd personally go trix if you have a halo B, not really a fan of timmy's.
Also, Donut, thats teh common misconception that ICD Bushmasters are super awesome, but they do have bad tolerances, like some bolts will fit in some and not in others, etc etc. Bushy's do have better stock parts aside the reg though when compared to a impy.

wait, save up, and buy a new timmy, or a dye trix.

I got my shocker for 500, 100% stock, but thats something to look into....
other options:
used b2k4 - 350
used vision impy - 300
largely upped mag - 400
stock nonvision shocker - 500
stock eblade - 450
2k2 trix - 450
Personally, I would chose the shocker or trix. You might have to save up a little more and find the right deal, but those are your best long term options.

That is what we call a bad idea.
I'd go for the the Trix. I'm not crazy about Timmies, but they are still very nice markers.

I like bushies more than imps too, I don't like imps at all.

a used trix with eyes seems to be the best option ive seen so far...
Save up $500 more, then get an '05 Speed. I don't care if it takes you a year to do so. You'll survive, even if you have to use your Spyder.
I'm only 16 and that's what I'm doing. :|

Having to sell nearly all your pb stuff including your marker to get a car

why does everyone have to hate on imps? i have one and i guarnatee i would still pwn the majority of you on the field. you can find private label imps with large up on ebay for like 400-500, which would be a good thing to do, but it would be better if you saved up more money and found a higher end marker like a trix
can'tthink of1
10-27-2004, 06:18 PM
I don't like the way imps feel/shoot. I also don't like the quality of them either, they just feel like a cheap marker.
For 500, I would find a used trix and take that over an imp.

One of the dumbest assertions made on these forums. If you have absolutely no way to back a statement up, then don't make it.
There's nothing wrong with buying a used imp so long as it's a good deal. But buying a new imp is a rip because there's always something better for the price.
Ghost2867
10-27-2004, 08:24 PM
i think it'd be hilarious if no one bought new imps anymore...then the only ones floating around would be the used ones...hahaha
20 years from now, they'd all disappear!! LOL
