J & J Ceramic 14"

oi!
I got my new tippy (98c) today , and when I tried to put the J&J Ceramic pipe on, it seems like.. it's mismatched. It goes on, but there is still some room to screw it, although it's connected..

So there's some room to screw, but It wont go any farther. Is it normal? IT seems tight enough though.

the same thing happened to me when i first got my 32* barrels. i put a few drop of oil on the thread and after a few installs and uninstalls it fit just fine.

You may have an older barrel with the newer receiver threads (or vice versa).

What I'd do first is unscrew the front site screw (just above the barrel) a bit, then screw the barrel in. If the barrel fits in, just screw the front site screw back in.

dude, j&j ceramics are cool, but u must remember not to dropit or scratch it cause it is scratches it will break ur paint and eventually shatter ur barrel..it is ceramic, it can shatter without correct care..just thought i would warn u guys..it happened to a friend and it would sux if it happened to ne one else

i thought it was only coated with ceramic on the inside but the barrel is metal

it is made of aluminum, niceshot009 is wrong. Here is a direct link to the manufactures site:

As long as it's not wobbly, you'll be fine.

It may not be fine if its not wobbly. If it is not seating fully then there will be a gap between the end of the barrel and the gun. This small gap can cause paintballs to break as they hit the gap at 300 psi. They won't break every shot, but you will break more often than if you had it screwed in all the way. But it will work fine if its screwing in as far as the threads on the gun, its not wobbly, and there is no gap.

the issue is that the ceramic coating cracks or scratches and breaks ur balls inside the barrel from then on

I know that this isn't a marker gallery but nice gun.
Did you buy the barrel used or new and the gun too?

oi!

Back from the scenario ;)
I've tested and adjusted my gun now, damn it's nice :)

The barrel doesn't move at all, so it seems fine. There's only that small "gap" but there doesn't seem to come any air out of it. I only had ONE (one) ball breakage at the game, and I shot like 600 pb'lls, so it seems to work :P

a pic of me and my gun

(and lamers, don't whine about the ghilliesuit)

it took me like 37 hours, but it was fun doing it.
