I recently got the Superfly for my A5 and think it was an upgrade. It seemed to make the gun better to me.

That is called the placebo effect. You think there was an improvement therefore you see one. We have argued for many a fortnight over the effects of aftermarket front bolts. We have tested and examined and picked over every inch of this arguement about once a month for as long as I can remember. There is exactly zero evidence that a new front bolt makes any difference whatsoever.
Why should it? It has no role in the delivery of the gas to the paintball, the powertube does that, all the bolt does is seal the chamber, nothing more nothing less.
That is all,

There was a great review on the A-5 Owners Group (www.a5ownersgroup.com) but it had recently been deleted due to some gliches.
Anyway, they compared the Stock Front Bolt/Powertube with teh Dead On one and the JCS Red Hot powertube.
The stock one was the best "value", I think Dead On only "won" by cupping the ball better but that's it. On accuracy and efficiency the stock bolt one.
Placebo effect is exactly it, couldn't have said it better myself. So the Placebo Effect is what makes my stock makes my shots go further and more accurate.

the Hyperstar didnt improve accuracy in my old 98 but did reduce ball breakage by quite a bit.

I agree that it could be the placibo affect, but it really did seem to help. I
tried the hyperstar at one point and didn't like it. The only diference between it and the stock one was the cutouts on the end. The hyperstar is a waste of maney.
The superfly has an o-ring that seals the bolt to the powertube which I think helps. It completely seals, the stock bolt doesnt.

Spend the money on something else. The bolt on Tippmanns is not something you need to upgrade.

Yes, the bolt is the last thing to add. Spend your money on other things and when you run out of things to put on it then maybe try a superfly.
