yeah I'm from San Francisco...... what school do you go to (if you're in the city, and if you're still in school)? I go to George Washington in teh richmond district and I play at sunol2000 and sherwood forest.

im in the bay area, south bay. the only places ive ever
been are down by santa cruz, which suck becasue of
both the distance i have to travel and the lack of permant
bathrooms. ive been looking at a bunch of places online
http://www.paintball-paradise.com/paintballfields.html
and sunol2000 is the nearest place for me, but ive never
been. also theres the indoor arena from www.diggthis.com
which i guess they call 'operation paintball'.
if anyone has been to either of these places and they are
good, i would like to hear about it.
also, a little farther north in valejo is paintball jungle, which
looks really nice from their site, but i would like to know from
somone who has been there if its cool, or if its just some
piece of crap kids park. thanks for any help you can provide.

We first off i got to Saintmarys in berkeley, and
yes i have been to both the paintball jungle and fairgrounds paintball in valejo
the jungle is cool, some people say the people r kinda weird, but whatever,
fairgrounds paintball is indoors and is ok.... not much room but good for rainy days

Check out Sunol. Good field. For the most part, they have friendly staff.

I'm from Walnut Creek.

I used to go to the Jungle, until WAP opened.

i have to say, those pictures of the wap site make
my arms sting in anticipation. too bad its like two
and a half hours from the south bay. i will however
make it my mission to get there somtime. one thing
i didnt understand from the wap site (www.wildadventurepaintball.com)
is the "Sorry No Private Co2 Filling"
does that mean they dont want you to bring a 20lb
tank and refill your own, or does that mean _they_ dont
have the facilities to do it on site? private is a weird
word. also, whats the age distribution like there on a
typical saturday or sunday? mostly 14 year olds
and the occasional 35 year old ? or do college kids
also show up so i wont feel like an idiot.
thanks.

It's prolly because their insurance doesn't allow people to fill their own CO2.

That is correct. WAP doesn't allow anyone to do their own Co2 filling. There is Co2 that you can pay for there. Insurance does not cover something like that for paintball.
WAP also has atleast 5 scuba tanks out there that fill to 3000psi that you can purchase either by the 1000psi or an all day air.

2 and a half hours is nothing considering you have all week to wait to play some paintball.See ya out there.

Late!

well i can put up with that. or surreptitiously refill
my gun in my trunk.
but what about the people who go there? its still
loads of fun if everyone is better than me and playing
with... whats it called? teamwork? but it sucks when
there is a field full of kiddies doing whatever it is that
kiddies do. :eyes:

We have all different age groups. We also have the ability to have different skill levels playing on multiple fields. For instance, this weekend we will have 3 or 4 teams practicing for upcoming NPPL tournaments. We usually have players from 10 years old to their late fifties. We have some very serious tournament players as well as many first time players. We pride ourselves in taking care of the inexperienced players, yet giving them a taste of what they can achieve with practice.
So go ahead and pick your poison!

SUNOL IS BEST!!! Don't go to the jungle...... it's BS... they charge too much and I can't stand Magic Carpet Bob..... Sherwood Forest which is a block away from the Jungle rules.... good prices, great staff, cool people. I like Sunol though cause the field is sooooooo great. Their recball field is my favorite out of all the fields I've played on, bunkerball is pretty fun although I always get stuck with the team that loses and when my team wins I run out of paint in the middle(I sometimes forget to refill my pods when I'm all hyped up:crazy: )....... and their speedball field is pretty good..... but I hate speedball anyway so I occasionally take speedball games off and clean my marker or have a drink or something

Hey I Ref at Sunol. I live in fremont, like 15 min away, I think that feild is great, but they are really into helping out newbies, (nothing agianst that) but if you are an advanced player, come out saturday, me and some of my team play then. The new sup air feilds are in, but won't be using them in the rain cause the vacums to fill them get clogged quick. So if you want a good time come out to Sunol Recreational Paintball Feild 2000. Damn thats a long *** name.
Sherwood is fun, and so is bear creek, but they are a little far away, I still have to goto Wap, and yea the "hornets" they suck at paintball, we beat their asses.
