Omg, ok, this morning my dad decided to take me and my brothers paintballing because my mom would be shopping the whole day. This would be my second time playing with my 04 xtreme bko. So i went to the chrono station, I adjusted my hpr so the gauge read 275 psi. First shot was like 168. I twisted the lpr and till it wouldnt go anymore. The highest it got was fricken 253fps. Thats not all, the velocity was jumping everywhere. It was like, 250,249,217,250, and its a brand new battery. So i didnt really care because this is the second time that this has happened while using it. I'm pretty sure that i have blowback because whenever i would fire too fast i would chop like crazy (i have a y board egg)so i think i have blowback :( I have the macro mod on there, could that be it? I dont think it is because i never chop when i shoot slow. What can i do to fix these things guys? I feel like seeling my bko, but i cant because i love it too much :( But other than that it was a fun day.

I know you've been having problems with it. Have you checked your valve? Sounds to me like the valve screw could be a tad loose so the valve is crooked and moving around a bit in there. This would cause low velocity and lots of fluctuation from shot to shot. If this turns out to be the problem, just get the valve straightened out, and when you put the screw back in use a drop of blue loctite on it.

actaully i screwed it in really tight, but i'll take another look, what about my rapid fire chopping or breaking?

well when i had my bko and egg 2 with y board, i would chop all the time. i tried out my friends halo 2, and had absolutely no chops. so it might be that you're just outshooting you're hopper. that will probably solve you're chopping problems

Yea either you're outshooting it or I heard people have had chopping problems when they modded both detents. Try modding only one and see if that works. Your velocity fluctuation may be just because your regs aren't broken in yet or they aren't set correctly.

sorry, I went to bed a little bit after answering the first time. Lotus has to sleep too you know .
For the chopping, try modding one detent. I think it was cjeeter or someone who had problems recently with modding both detents, but modding one worked perfectly.
Actually, your consistency doesnt look too bad. 250, 249, 217, 250 is actually pretty good consistency, except for that 217 which could probly be attributed to new regs since your gun is still new.
The low velocity is what is troubling. In fact, once that is cured, the consistency will probly get better as well. Check the screws that hold the ram, they may be too tight, which would restrict the movement of the ram and slow it down.
Check for blowback. If your blowback is bad enough, it can also cause lower velocity than normal. To check for blowback, put a ball in the chamber and place a tissue over the top of the feedneck. Then shoot the paintball. If the tissue flies off the gun, you have blowback. If not, then your gun is fine. A quicker way is to take off your barrel and look at the bolt (while its in the gun) and see if you can see any light around it. If you can, then the bolt is too small for the gun body. This will cause blowback. As you probly know, a Vapor bolt will fix this.
Thats about all I can think of, Im no expert on BKO's. To quote a great man: "Hope this helps."

Yes, my BKO Xtreme has that very same velocity issue.
I've tried dropping in a new valve spring, but I've yet to get to a field to test it. Have you noticed that your valve spring is INCREDIBLEY stiff? Mine was.
Also, I here buying a chaos and turning up the dwell works fine too.

ya lotus- it was me who modded both detents. if you have both of them modded, you will chop a lot. just mod one of em, and it works like a charm.

i dont know what you guys are talking about, my bko only has one detent, lol. I guess i'll have to sell the egg to my brother. I might have been outshooting it. At the field i was guessing that the blowback might have been causing the wierd velocity. But i think my regs should be broken in by now, i've shot about 2 cases out of it. I have also left my tank on it overnight so that it would break in.

1) Push your bolt forward to the firing position.
2) Shine a flash light at the front of your marker
3) Look down the tube your bolt is in, from the rear of the marker.
Did you see any light coming around the bolt? If you did you have a bolt that isnt sealing in the marker and need a Vapor bolt or another bolt to take care of the blow back that you are fighting.
You can also try adjusting your HPR up to 300psi and then adjust the LPR to reach your desired fps. Some 04's will run at a slightly higher psi until they breakin. 275 isnt a given point that at KO's will run at but it is a good place to start.
Like Lotus said earlier if you get the blow back stopped, if that is your problem, you will probably see the marker become more consistant.

hm........... now a halo would take care of the blowback completley right?

A Halo will not take care of blow back. It will improve the problems you would see caused by blow back since it is a force feed marker but blow can still cause problems because it can the ball up for a split second which is long enough to cause problems that can lead to a chop.
The only way to cure blow back is with a oringed bolt.

greeny, have you tested for blowback yet? We cant answer any more questions until you test for blowback so that we know whether or not that is what is causing the problems. You have to do some legwork here. As much as we would like to be able to, we cant fix your gun over the computer for you :computer: .
If it is blowback, then a Vapor bolt will fix your problems. Dont go rushing off getting a Halo. Unless your blowback is very minor, the Halo will not completely prevent chopping due to blowback. And the Halo wont fix your velocity problems either. The best bet if you have blowback is to just get the new bolt. Then see how much you chop with the Egg. Who knows, the Egg may be fast enough for you.
Edit: BKOmaster, the only difference between a Halo and Reloader B is eyes v. sound activation. They both force feed with the exact same spring tension.

Hoppers dont stop bb. IT will help stop choping thats it. New bolt or modding ur stokc for o-rings is the only way to stop bb. With no bb u have higher fps and able to get high rates of fire w/o choping.

Don't be so sure that a Halo will fix all your problems. I have been having the exact same problems with my 04 extreme too, except I have a Halo B.

oh, I meant your blowback problem. Vapor bolt will cure it. available on www.paintballtrader.com www.tantrumpaintball.com and www.shootpaint.com
As for the gauge....ummmm...I dont know. All I can tell you is maybe to clean out the reg, and set it back at 300psi. But I really dont know what would make it suddenly go from 300psi to 400psi for no reason.
