In that price range, you should rock a Timmy. They're much more reliable than a Shocker, and much more well known than a FS. A popular marker always comes in handy when you need help with it.

CK is right in my opinion. I just got a Texas Storm Timmy, it was under $800 and came with Frenzy, an adjustable feedneck, an Alias-style trigger, and a newer LPR. You can get a 2k2 for even cheaper than that.
I was going to get a Shocker, but they're too unreliable and the anno is subpar. Many people like Freestyles, I just don't like the feel of them, and Timmies feel very natural to me.

not that i'm taking sides or anything but the gen. 2 FS grip is VERY similar to a timmy clamshell...gen.1 felt like crap...

It's just everything about a Timmy that feels right to me, though. The weight, the reg distance, the dimensions, the feel of the trigger pull, everything. My Texas Storm feels like an extension of me when I use it, not like an awkward paintball marker.

The stock freestyle beats a vision shocker already. And form the sound of it you like the feel. So go for it! You wont regret it.

Freestyle =Teh win :tup:

Read the freestyle manual and your set. Freestyles are very reliable. Simple lubeing will keep them in perfect running condition. Something does go wrong, its usually a simple fix. Like changeing a o-ring.

I've said this so many times, but I'll say it again.
If something was to go wrong with my Timmy, I'd much rather have all my teammates there to help me fix it, or to tell me that they've had the same problem with theirs, and that they know exactly what it is. That doesn't happen with a Freestyle.

I didnt scream it man. He said he liked the clammy and stuff. And the preformance is better than a shocker. So its the better gun for him. Do you disagree?

That doesn't happen with a Freestyle. No not yet. But eventually the FS will become more known. Like I said he seems to like the feel and the freestyle is a better gun. So I say he should go for it.

i like the feel of both guns accualy...the FS has a slight edge because of the clammy...

slushii: u got s FS...do u know if it is possible to mod a FS frame to take a timmy LCD screen with membrane switches?

A Freestyle would also be more expensive than a 2k2 Timmy would, in fact it would be about $100 more. If he really likes the feel more, then that's fine with me.

2k2's have clammies too, and are cheaper, so hypothetically he likes the feel of both markers the same.
Personally, I'd save the $100, and buy a barrel or something with it. But that's just me.

Also the 2k2 is $750. If you call shore the freestyle is $730 and I think it may come with a HE bolt. Call and ask.

Also the 2k2 is getting kind of old. And if you were to want that I would suggest buying a used one with alot of ups already. Kind of dumb to buy new if you ask me.
