I am planning to get a Comp-Air system for my Tippmann 98, but before I do I was wondering, is it really worth it. I am not worried about the tank because I will soon have one at my disposal. The regulator is also not a problem. I was just wondering if there was another way to go. Can anyone help?

No not worth it.
IT does give you a performance increase, but is way overpriced.

Just buy a decent reg and you are set.

But then I have to buy a vertical adapter and money is not an issue
I am talking performance.

Its not worth putting $160 to $200 worth of parts on a $130 gun. I would recommend buying a HPA tank and put the rest of your money towards purchasing a higher end gun if you really want a perfomance upgrade.

A friend of my brothers (who I paintball with) bought it for his A-5. Biggest waste of money, so he says. He told me that You have to buy a regulator AFTER you buy the LP kit, which adds another $100 or so onto the price of $200.

A HPA tank will be the biggest investment you could make since if you plan on moving up to a higher end marker, most require HPA and you could use it on that. Also, you will see better consistency when you switch from c02 to HPA. You won't need the LP kit unless you get a LP tank. A HP nitro tank will work just fine going straight into the marker.

your pretty much talking about a lot of money so when you do this you better be ready to keep your gun forever
