umm... asking that question in here will get you one answer.... Impulse is better.

well.... it is.

a TKO impy would be nice... it has its advantages over the cocker.
cockers are all basically the same.... there may be some performance differences... lighter, quieter, lower pressure, nicer trigger, but all basically the same.
I used to shoot a cocker, I now shoot a matrix, I am thinking about switching to Eclipse impy. Either Eclipse or Demonic.... either one I get would be vision.

how much money are you looking to put into a marker?
I suggest test both, decide how much you want to work on your marker... cocker will require much more work, and be more frustrating. I personally love electros. but thats just me.

it is all personal man. get whatever the hell you want.

I played with a cocker before I bought my Impy, and I really liked it, But I finally got fed up with the thing! I was playing in a local tourney- the thing crapped out within the first min of our first game, I was so P*ssed! It had worked so well at the crono prior to the start of the game... I guess my point is cockers are super, wonderful, awesome when they work! But plain crappy when they don't! There are a lot less to go wrong on an Impy. With a cocker there are a whole host of things that can go wrong... I am super happy with my Impy. I dont think I will ever shoot anything else.

But when they're not, you are! Screamin that is! Yeah I've said it before too, There is nothin like a well timed cocker. When they're on, Oh baby! Watch out. However if they don't cycle just right, and you tweak the wrong handle! You're sittin while everyone else is playin. That's why I've got two Imps, if someones cocker goes down, I let them borrow a dependable marker! ;)

Moon Rising, I was in the same debate for about last 4 months. I first layed my eyes on the cocker. Sweet gun, very very accurate, good air usage, down side is it's mechanical, CRAP load of upgrades needs to be done and you have to follow the rules to shoot it or you will chop. Then I switched to Mag, minimag especially with LCD grip, played with that for a few games, friend had one. Mag is good, accurate, light, interesting design.... but something was just not there, no idea what. Then I stumbled on this forum and checked out Impulse. Best deal for the money, no chopping, electro trigger, enough upgrades to keep you spending money, lots of mods you could do or pay someone to do them for you, light gun (electro wise) and accurate.

Well 4 months later, I played my first game with it tonight. I improved my gameplay about 5 times (I killed 5 times more people than usual) and loved the gun.

So in conclusion, my advice is this, read ALL the reports you can get your hands on for ALL possible guns you want. Read pbreview.com feedback, especially the negatives about the guns. Try to get a hold of one at your local field, see if you can play a game with it. And then look at the amount of money you have to spend. I got full package from FOM, Vision, with freak kit(thanks to Kat's harassment), Center Flag tank (advice from FOM), VFF (got to have this mod, FOM does it), delrin bolt (could go without one, but it helps on maintence), I got Tongue trigger (my friend had blade and tongue, I liked the tounge better, same performance, different personal preference here) and vertical Max flow.... all this for a grand.... just can't go wrong with that. Anyways it rocks and I hope it stays working this way and if anyone asks me for review of the Imp, I give it 99% (nothing is 100% )

Hope this long review helps you make the right decision for you, good luck.
