Just like the title says, compare the Dragun T.E.S. and the Spyder Imagine '04

for my:twocents: I have heard that the Imagine is a very solid marker, the one main problem described with it is that is of a lower class and it is worth more to just buy a better marker than to up an imagine. The T.E.S. on the other hand has very efficient materials, low pressure operation, and 20 bps capable. The problem is though that this marker (w/about 150 reviews) has many more negatives than the Imagine '04 (w/around 75 reviews, the Imagine doesn't even have any "ones") the main problems described with the T.E.S. is that it can easily break down, has the same bad stock parts as any Spyder, and the eyes do more harm than good (also the LP operation [to me] has yet to be proven effective[at least for the TES])

The TES is your best choice considering the price they're at right now.

the tes has crappy eyes. go with the imagine (120) get some upgrades on it. you will be much happier.

If you've got money for the tboard get the imagine. If not, get the TES

bad eyes > no eyes

bad reg > no reg

LP > HP (for efficiency reasons)

20bps > 14bps

The price difference between the Imagine and TES is not enough $ to fix its short-comings imo.

$70 for Tboard w/ eyes
$60 for Torp Reg
$00 for drilling V/A

$130 + 120 = 250

250 w/ Tboard and real LP

Vs. Stock TES for 145
And you still dont have a good reg.

So it comes down to paying for crappy stock. Or buying the plain jane and get x20's better aftermarket

Obviously the gun's going to be better when you put lots of $ worth of upgrades into it. The Imagine is $120, the TES is $160, all you can get for $40 is a barrel. An Imagine with a better barrel is not better than a TES.

What I am saying is your paying for upgrades you will replace anyway.

Wait, your overlooking the fact that not everybody has money to buy upgrades immediately after they purchase the gun. In that case the TES would be better because its only a little bit more money and it doesn't need to be upgraded for a while.

You can upgrade as your skills get better and you have cash. I wasnt suggesting doing it all at once if you were going to do that I'd say get a higher end gun.

Well if your going to upgrade over time, you mights as well start out with a better gun. That way you'll have a good gun and make it better instead of starting out with a gun thats not as good and then making that better. Also, if someone isn't as serious about paintball, they don't wanna spend a ton of time upgrading so they just want a good gun to start with.

I have enough money to upgrade anyway (I have like $400 and I don't want a bko/evo)

also...

If I have an HPA tank with a screw in regulator for the tank, do I need to buy a vertical foregrip regulator for my marker? (such as the BL torp reg?)

I know I was just saying that not everybody has enough money. Why don't you wan't an EVO?

I'm not sure but I don't think you need another regulator. Having one will, of course, be better but its not as important.

Aim high, not low, that is the way to get a marker you will actually stick with. I would look at Impulses, Bushys, and RT ULE Mags.

No, it's just more consistent double regged.

You wish. The TES eye logic is so bad it barely even works when firing 13+bps, which just happens to be when ace is most useful.
