My friends and I use radios, and I have to say that they work great. Nothing like being able to tell your other team mates where you are and where they need to go to out flank the other team.

It does kind of give you an unfair advantage if the other team doesn't have them though. We played this weekend and out of 5 games, we won 4. They even had more players.

We will definitely be using them next time. I think the other team will be buying some too.

I have a set of 4 Midland 75-515 FRS Radios. We use Bellsouth boom mic headsets. Works like a charm.

I would say that aside from my cocker, they are the best purchase that I have made when it comes to PB.

there are some really good things about them like, you can tell your teamates where your apponents are, but there are also some bad things, such as they could give away your possition if you had it loud enough, and if both teams have them, then your gonna hear everything the other team says.:)

Ehhh..maybe for a huge woods or scenario game.. but how the heck can you radio stuff to teammates when your playing? if you were pplayin anyone w/ skill.. your *** would be BUNKERED!

Just use your mouth! much easier than a radio, and you can keep your hands in a fireing position and do many otehr things.. plus its natural, so it doe'nst take as much though, so you can concentrate on the game, the really important thing.

i say nay, enless its a huge woods or scenario game.. but on a speedball field, you will get bunkered i guarentee it. plus you might miss an opponent moving up on your if your behind your bunker playin w/ a little radio :finger:

thats what the head set is for... Your hands will always be free... And its a lot better than yelling... It lets the other team know right where you are rather than just saying something like " one enemy is behind bunker 4 and another behind bunker 7" into the headset and having all your teammates know rather than just yelling it... If they think you dont know where they are and you yell right where they are they will be allerted and probably move... This is the whole reason why my team is getting them.

Ah headsets..how do you get that on w/ a masK? underr it??

But anway, in speedball, most eliminations are over in the first minute..so there would be no reason to report opponents.. it happens fast man..i just wouldn't think it would useful enough for the hassle and cash

kinda feel the same way about lcds on the grip.. i woudl think i would be sittin behind my bunker turnin my gun every which way to read the lcd, and then hit buttons?? yah right, 2 more seconds and ill feel pain down my back and paint runing down my neck.

i do like the lcds on the back of bushys.. the bm2k2s. that is cool, very limited info, but also very usseful and no buttons to worry about and confused you :)

just my opinion.. kinda cool idea, but i think its cooler in your mind than on the field

The field I play at is pretty much just a woods field... They dont have a speedball field... Thats why we are getting them.. And it wouldnt be hard to put them on. Just put them on and put the mask on over them

I agree that I doubt they would be useful at a speedball field, however I only play woods ball. And the fields are pretty big.

We use headsets which sit underneath our mask. It took a little getting used to and getting is set up correctly but once you figure it out you are good to go.

As for everyone hearing everything if there are multiple teams... That's why you have different channels.

If you are going to do headsets, which I recommend, I would not recommend doing voice activated ones, I use a push button. My sets do let you do voice, however they don't work as well as you would like them to. Every time you fire, they kick on and depending on the noise level, they may not come on when you want them too.

ahh... the dead man talking theory. it's useful in rec, but if you try to do it in the bigger games, somebody is gonna be looking for YOU.

The radios were form Amazon.com they cost me 64 bucks for the pair, came with a charger and batteries.

The headsets cost 13 bucks at Walmart. They are BellSouth boom mics. They work well. At first we had a hard time getting the mic into the right place but a little tape to the face fixed that.

Since I spent enough on the radios, I told those who wanted to use them that all they had to do was to go out and buy the headset of their choice and that they could keep them between games since they were technically theirs.

Actually they don't... That's the reason for the headset. Only you can hear it.
