How are 10 inch barrels compared to 10" barrels?

you mean 10" compared to 14"? because as far as i know 10" is exactly the same thing as 10 inch

I only know that my 8" barrel is 2" shorter..

10 inch barrels are gonna give you the same accuracy as a 14, but will be slightly louder, and not point as nicely, due to the reduced length. Myself I'm a fan of 12 inch lengths because that gives you a decent balance of quietness, looks better than a 10 inch, and a 14 is too frickin big
