i just spent a while looking through your sticky, and im sory if this is asked alot.
Im asking for a bko for xmass. Why? because its the only thing i need, and i kinda feel bad because this would be the only pb thing really my rents would have gotten me gun wise, so i wanted to make it worth it.
I figure if i get a 2004 BKO i could put some mods on it to make it a pretty good marker. The 18bps cap wasnt a big deal to me, because i only walk up to 15-16 anyways so 18 fine. Looking through the sticky i found a couple things i couldent figure out.
1)Sp mod, whats it do?
2)D.A.M mod, what does it do exactly.
3)are either of thoes worth doing, or is saveing your 30-80 bucks and getting pds better.
the only reason i have hesitation about getting pds is the long turnaround time and well, that 125 buck price tag.
Is the D.A.M a good mod, how well has it performed (this would be the prefered mod quick turnaround+cheap lol)?
my setup would most likely be
Red 04BKO
Black drop
Black dyes
Black backed red tip cp 2 piece
Vapor no rise black
Same reg for a while
Vapor valve
*Some type of antichop mod
Possibly an OTB frame depending on price of above mod.
Once again sorry if this is common, i looked through sticky couldent find what i was looking for. and search is bloked by parental controls...dang parentals....Thanks for the input guys.

The SP mod prevents chops. Its a mod to your ram that makes it so that the bolt bounces off the ball when you would normally chop. I dont think its offered anymore though, unless Shootpaint makes an exception.
Dont get the DAM mod. I'm not sure where to get it, I dont think its even available anymore. ppl had tons of problems with it, it didnt work too well and it screwed up alot of ppl's rams.
Also, if you want the OTB frame, you'd better act fast. They arent in production anymore and OTB is no longer shipping to retailers. They are selling the last of their frames on ebay. Just go on ebay and search for OTB frame. The good news is, they are selling them a bit cheaper now.
Good luck with the parentals.....you need to get rid of those child locks on your computer man! :P

lotus covered it all but if you want a 90* frame and you can't find a OTB look into the Pure Acid frames. They are made in Austrailia (like it matters) and they are very good quality.

u are better off just asking for a impulse i was goin to get an extreme 2004 bko butthen i learned bout it and heard comments saying it is fast but the regulator sucks, also if the gun breaks i was talking to a indian creek dealer indian creek wont even ship him the parts. with the bko u are looken at problems. get the impulse more upgradable, nicer look, and easy to fix.
the funniest thing of all was that instead of buying a impulse i wound up with a blood red dust angel speed. its awsome!!

Im definatly not a big fan of imps, a was trying a Rat at the field a couple weekends ago, and i must say, for what they are they are over priced, plus i dont support sp, after the shinanagins a while back.
Im Pushing for a b2k4 with pds and paying for half of it, but i dont know when i could get the 250 to pay for half...i would need to part out my spyder and through in alot of my cash.

u are better off just asking for a impulse Why get an Imp when you could get a B2K4?
get the impulse more upgradable, nicer look, and easy to fix. No, no, and.....no.
Well, its kinda the off-season and you're probly not gonna play as much paintball since its getting colder, so I think it'd be worth it to get a B2K4. That way you can pay your parents back during the off-season and be debt-free by spring so that you are once again able to pay for paint and such.
However, dont forget that you will need to buy a Unimount or some other ASA, and a decent hopper. Since you'd be getting PDS you wouldnt be in dire need of a Halo (although it'd certainly be nice), an Egg should suffice if you need to save money.
BTW, you're 15, if you need money you're old enough to get a job if you want. You could work as a bagger at a grocery store (I know its a boring job, I did it for awhile to afford paintball, but when you're 15 your job options are a bit limited). If you work about 20 hours a week, you could make over $250 in 3 weeks. Maybe in 2 weeks, depending on how good the pay is.

Well yes im 15, and no there is no off season anymore, a new indoor field opened up and i have been playing there at least once a month. I couldent pay my rents back, its all or nothing. I have to pay up front. And as for uni, i have a drop i would use on the b2k or bko, so im not worried about that. I just did fairly well on my report card and my mom watched me play and enjoyed it...maybe be cause i did well, so im hopeing i can use this all to push in favor of the b2k4.
By the way, I have a hpa system and eggy 2 with z, im all set with that stuff. I would go straight b2k, but i have eyes on my spyder now and i grown to love them (when i have them installed) i dont chop as it is running lp and i didnt wana start chopping if i got a new gun.

The BKO is a good choice and unlike stated above it is not problem proned. The HPR is very reliable and shouldnt be a area of concern. The B2K w/ PDS is another marker all together. It is a better marker as the price tag indicates.
The B2K w/ PDS has a fully pneumatic cocking system that allows the marker to be controlled a lot more precisely. This in turn leads to a more consistant marker as well as a higher firing rate. The B2K will require a little more care than the BKO but not much. The basic care is lubing of the regs and the ram assembly. Beyond these three things there really isnt to much to concern yourself with.
Another option you might want to consider is the B2K. It is the same marker as the B2K w/ PDS but it doesnt have the PDS installed on it. This will allow you to have the preformance of the B2K but it will not have any form of anti-chop system on it. This saves you roughly $100 bucks on the intial cost of the marker that maybe good for you since you are strapped for cash. Most B2K's wont chop or break paint provided they are feed with a decent speed hopper. Should you find that you are chopping you can send the marker in to have PDS installed for roughyl $125 or you could look at going with a MAC Ram, not availible to the general public at this time. The MAC Ram is a anti-chop ram assembly we are testing right now that should be availible around christmas time.
It really boils down to what you can afford and what you want for the money you spend. Any of the above markers are going to be a good investment for you provided you take care of them and preform the general maintainence that they will require. Just remember all of these markers can be upgraded to preform with the best markers out there but there are still limitations. A completely decked out BKO will preform about as well as a B2K but a upgraded B2K will out preform a upgraded BKO.
Last but not least. If you are still looking at a BKO the SP Mod is no longer offered in favor of the MAC ram. It is a new design we are going to be selling that will take place of the SP Mod. It is a lot more user friendly than the SP Mod was and it is completely adjustable were the SP mod was not.
If you have any more questions let us know.

I know how most of the mechanics work, and im not afraid of stripping and lubeing (i have alot of lithium greese too so no problem with lack of that) Im not afraid of the care, all i need is reliability, and Chopage....
I am leaning for a b2k standard and asking my rents for xmass to pay for half. I was looking around and foud them at shop4paintball.com, but if shootpaint has them i would rather go there. This new ram, how much will it cost, and would i have to send it out? I really dislike having other people work on my gear, i did my own eyes and suck on my spyder, but that was more of a cheaper replacement value....eventualy for a bday or something i think i would go for the eyes....but off the bat a barrel and valve would be the firsts (and a bolt if ness)
BTw you guys are incredibly helpfull...a guy like me in the kingman forum would be ripped apart and eaten...

The MAC Ram is a drop in ram assembly, no need to send anything off to have it installed. You will need to tune it for your marker but it is a fairly simple process.

OK guys....I think if i get a new gun it will be the b2k4 non pds...Due to price constraints. But will that mac ram work in a bko, if so i would save myself some cash and get that.

I believe shootpaint has a MAC Ram in the plans for a BKO but has no date on it.

4-way.
well, technically, if you count the relief valve its a 5-way. But most ppl just call it a 4-way.
It both drives the ram fowards and recocks it.

BKO's use a 2-way solenoid (once again-technically its a 3-way but just call it a 2-way, everyone does)
Not sure on The One, I think its a 2-way. Thats what makes sense.
