Ok guys

I'm getting a nitro kit for the C98

and I want to keep my car stock...but the nitro kit is rear cocking

can i replace that with a side cocking and not lose performance?

I spoke with tippmann and they said it's possible but performance is lost because of the differnt spring/bolt that is used for the rear.

has anyone tried this and got away without losing any performance??

Sell the stock. If you still want some sort of a stock purchase the Lapco T stock. This will enable you to have the nitro kit installed. The nitro kit is more important than a stock.

If you didn't mind taking the chance you could try and modify the LP rear bolt assembly to a side cocker. You would need to take apart the plastic cocking handle, add the side cocking arm, and shorten the plastic cocking handle.

It can be done, but I wouldn't want to take the chance of screwing up the rear assembly with out seeing how much a replacement one would be. I do have an extra one if you wanted to buy it and try and play with it before you buy the whole kit. I also know someone who is selling a complete used kit if you are interested in that.
